Nachdem mir der Vorgänger "Das Tiefschwarze Herz" ausgesprochen gut gefallen hatte, war ich natürlich umso gespannter auf "Das Strömende Grab" und als leidenschaftlicher (aber realistischer) Strike-Fan waren meine Erwartungen ziemlich hoch.

I do hope that the last two books have more of Strike and Robin together and that the cases are more interesting and less clichéd. Bold theory: I predict Ryan will confront Strike, accusing him of hiding/destroying Robin's messages for him. He has also established contact with Prudence, another of his numerous half-sisters¹, as well as navigating the complexities of his relationship with his sister Lucy, who also spent time at the Chapman Farm site with Strike as children, before it was used by the UHC.As a fan of documentaries on cults, I appreciate how the author explored what drives them and how they can manipulate people's beliefs on a large scale. The real strength of the book is the way Rowling has created the entirely convincing and creepy world of her cult sect, the Universal Humanitarian Church.

Speaking about the novel’s themes, which centre on backlash on social media, JK Rowling denied that she wrote it in reference to her own online controversies, explaining: "I wasn’t clairvoyant, I just – yeah, it was just one of those weird twists. Strike, despite his jealousy at Robin's new boyfriend, is such a lovable protagonist here and gets some brilliant punch the air moments similar to his interaction with Dennis Creed in Troubled Blood. As the saying goes, distance makes the heart grow fonder, Strike finally accepts his feelings for Robin as he misses her presence around him and is kind of depressed that he let Robin move further away from him due to his foolishness to maintain the status quo.The books are as much about the cases that the agency tackles as it is about their mutual relationship. Let’s just say this at the outset: if you are looking for a story full of warm-hearted life-affirming fun, and giggles, move along now, because this really isn’t the book you’re looking for.

Section epigraphs that don't necessarily add substance or context, but nevertheless set the literary mood. At the end of The Ink Black Heart each of them had come to the realization that they were secretly in love with the other.

How does this detective agency even begin to weedle out information in an environment where everyone is so slavishly programmed to a cult? Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott in the small-screen adaptation of Robert Galbraith's crime novels. Warum hat man es nicht einfach bei ihr belassen, anstatt noch zwei, drei weitere Prophetin hinzuzufügen, die keine tragende Bedeutung haben, als hätte Rowling vergessen, dem Leser zu erklären, wieso sie überhaupt erfunden hat.
