About this deal

So, to summarize the above paragraph: if you are a Nikon 1 hater, please be kind or stop reading now. C. I used to feel the say way that you do when I ran into this back in the early 2000’s, but I think it is really just about one less distraction or thing be noticed by my subjects. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. But it had to be small and light enough to fit in my man-purse along with a 35mm film camera, and ideally in a jacket pocket by itself, and it had to be relatively cheap. The level of lateral CAs (color shadows at harsh contrast transitions) is in the range of around 1 up to just above 1.

It’s still compact even when mounted to the Nikon 1 J4, it makes for a great “standard-lens” equivalent. The F2 makes you feel like a conflict photographer until your shoulder starts to hurt and you realize you wouldn’t last five minutes in the shit. So the J5 has a PASM dial (along with a bunch of inscrutable little pictures), two control wheels, a nub of a finger grip, and a flip-out screen (a big bonus for me, since I love TLR-style shooting as long as the image isn’t reversed). So many reviews of lenses and cameras have such crappy uninspired samples that you really learn nothing about the abilities of the camera or lens. Also, it utilizes one aspherical element to control distortion and aberrations and has a rear focusing AF system.

Lacking experience, she can’t put into words what it is that she finds enjoyable about using the gear. I think it’s a neat thing to have and there are probably some use cases where it’s invaluable, but for me personally, the work involved in whittling down the extravaganza of files it kicks out is rarely worth the upside. When you over expose the shadows and then enlarge a bit in PP, you can see how any sensor performs, the lbetter sensors hold the “grain or pixel clusters” better.

This lens does seem to perform a lot better at closer distances, the performance is going to deteriorate once you get closer to infinity. It’s somewhat resistant to flaring but the same couldn’t be said for ghosts as you’ll get blobs in your frame when you’re not careful. This is how bad it looks, if only this was handled a bit better then I think this lens is exceptional. That sounds to me a little bit over the top… I dont think, no matter how honest, passionate, enthusiastic etc Steve is coming across he will be able to susbstitute Your own direct hands-on experience before an eventual purchase with any of these cameras/lenses/etc he reviews… Well, thats just my two cents on the matter. Since I posted my first batch of photos taken with the brand new Olympus OM-D EM-10, I’ve had more time to study the camera and to take some additional photos. As an interesting side note; both Panny with their GF3KK and Nikon V1 both came out with designs panned by the media and within the same year both made substantial changes to their design to appease them. The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR delivers a 35mm full-frame equivalent field of view and stands out due to its small size and weather-resistant build.

Secondly, because it allows more light onto the camera's sensor, the range of situations in which Nikon's hybrid autofocus will use the faster phase-detection method will be greater. Autofocus is fast, partly because the Nikon 1 cameras have an excellent AF system, and partly because the fast aperture allows for better focus accuracy.

Not nothing, but I justified it because the value has presumably flattened out for a while — if we don’t get along, I can send it off without much of a loss. It feels almost hallow like the lens consists only of the outer lens barrel, the mount and the front and rear elements but is empty inside. The flavor of flame-grilled beef patty is hard to beat and the extra onions that I requested certainly did the job. The corners aren’t the best specially at the extremities, they’re not unusable but they’re far from nice.
