About this deal

Nirvana’ was released following the settlement of a long standing legal dispute between Courtney Love and remaining Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, centered on the release format of the song ‘You Know You’re Right’ which was recorded at the band's last session in 1994. This exceptional live recording from the Spanish capital two years earlier represents the outfit at their peak of dominance, having released their most commercially successful record, Nevermind, 12 months or so earlier, creating a slew of anthems such as 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', 'Something In The Way', and 'Come As You Are' to international youth culture folklore. It is a very real and raw recording from their show at Hollywood Rock Festival which was actually held at Paca da Apoteose, Rio de Janeiro on 23rd January 1993. Their major-label debut album, "Nevermind," released in 1991 by DGC/Geffen Records, broke both the band and grunge into mainstream America.

History lessons aside, they were more potent live than on any studio recording, with this breakneck, raw-throated and high-intensity set exemplary of why.

Sadly, lead guitarist and vocalist Kurt Cobain's death by suicide in April 1994 marked the end of Nirvana. That's why each of our records is first meticulously cleaned and then not just inspected once, but twice, before a sample is play-tested to make sure it sounds as good as it looks. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. Review: Despite the personal problems we now know Kurt Cobain was suffering at the time and which would eventually drag the band into oblivion, Nirvana sound pretty much on top of their game on this broadcast of a Japanese show from February 1992. The set list revolves around tracks from the international bestselling Nevermind album but anyone who thought global recognition might have seen the band polish up and bland out would be sorely mistaken - raucous, distorted and blessed by a vocal performance that veers from disdainful to hysterical, from opener 'Negative Creep' to the 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' that closes it, they're 100% chaotic punk rock energy.

Also among the 14 classics on Nirvana: 1991’s breakthrough “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, and fellow Nevermind singles “Come As You Are”, and “In Bloom”, In Utero singles “Heart-Shaped Box” and “Pennyroyal Tea”, as well as deep cuts including “About A Girl” from first album Bleach, “Been A Son” from the Blew EP, the non-LP single “Sliver”, and live acoustic versions of “All Apologies” and David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” from the GRAMMY® winning MTV Unplugged In New York. Prior to that, they were known as Skid Row (6), Pen Cap Chew (2), Bliss (108), Ted Ed Fred, Throat Oyster, and Windowpane.Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again. Nirvana’s self-titled 7 x platinum-selling posthumous collection Nirvana makes its debut as a standard single LP 180-gram heavyweight vinyl edition which will feature a download card. Punk energy and aesthetic ("Territorial Pissings", "Drain You") are its lifeblood; pop melody, harmony, and structure ("Something In The Way", "Come As You Are) its selling points; Kurt Cobain's roaring guitars and subconscious intellect ("Smells Like Teen Spirit", "In Bloom") its heart and soul. As a result, classics such as 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', 'Come as You Are' and 'Drain You' sound fresher and heavier than ever.

Plenty of the band's classics made the setlist and they sound as sleazy and gritty as ever on this recording. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. VG+ (Very Good Plus): This record has clearly been played before, but has only a moderate reduction in sound quality, despite a possible slight loss of shine and some surface marks. Nevermind raised groundbreaking Seattle grunge trio Nirvana to the status of godhead, forever changing the face of the pop music market. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. The final lineup consisted of Kurt Cobain on lead guitar and vocals until his untimely death in April 1994; Krist Novoselic on bass and accordion from March 1987 to April 1994; and Dave Grohl on drums and backing vocals from September 25, 1990 to April 5, 1994. Review: By 1992 Nirvana weren't just in full swing, they'd done the unthinkable - turning the hardcore end of a rock 'n' roll sub genre that originated in the US Pacific Northwest into a global chart-topping phenomena. Nirvana’s self-titled, double platinum-selling (United States) / 7x platinum-selling (Worldwide) posthumous collection Nirvana (Universal Music) makes its debut on 45rpm double LP, pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and packaged in a furnace black gatefold sleeve with liner notes and a digital download card for 24-bit 96kHz HD audio. This time round, there's also a second bonus disc made up of live recordings of Nirvana in action in Tokyo, Melbourne, Amsterdam and California during 1991 and '92. Nobody had come up with an album like Nevermind before, because no one could conceive of an album like it - not since Husker Du had broken up, anyway.

Repressed, remastered and redefined over and over again, the Steve Albini-produced, mainstream-eschewing swansong has only grown to become one of the ugliest left-turns the 90s grunge scene ever spat out. Repressed, remastered and redefined again and again, the Steve Albini-produced, mainstream-eschewing swansong has become one of the ugliest left-turns the 90's grunge scene ever spat up, and the subject of much heated internal fan debate over which is the definitive version. M (Mint): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Originally released in 1991, the album has been been remastered and re-released to mark the 20th Anniversary of its original release.
