Given Sylvester's massive singing range, it really does take someone like Adam Lambert to give this a go. Lambert makes the most of his careful selection of songs, helped along the way by an impressive roster of producers that includes Tommy English and Andrew Wells. So I think I just stopped worrying about playing a game and more so started to focus just on my own instincts on what kind of music I love. Even when I was doing American Idol, thinking of ways to bring a fresh slant on really well-known songs was always paramount in my mind. are different enough and good enough to justify their existence and show what an album of cover versions delivered with "high drama" could have been, but does anybody really need yet another karaoke cover version of "I Can't Stand The Rain" or "Mad About The Boy"?

Somewhere along the way, though, he had a change of heart and threw himself into an ambitious project to cover 11 well-known beloved songs. Arguably his boldest choice on the album is his reimagining of “Sex on Fire” as a sweaty, gratuitous dancefloor anthem.Adam once again proved that his I was a skeptic, but this album blew me away, some covers took my breath away in the best sense of the word.

For me, it’s been really challenging to twist these songs into completely different arrangements and make them sound brand new.It’s exciting, and if our new takes of these wonderful songs can surprise the artists who recorded the originals, then the record’s definitely succeeded.
