About this deal

Dining outdoors in summer means careful consideration of the menu: namely, what travels well and can be eaten, for most part, mess free. The funny thing is we have just been away for the weekend and decided to take the electric coolbox as its smaller. The most common used cool box in the UK is thermoelectrical due to the low outside ambient temperatures and cost. This sleek little gadget has it all: from silent operation to the ability to cool or warm food in seconds.

pop-up cool box keeps food and beverages chilled for up to eight hours before collapsing down flat for compact carrying afterwards. As mentioned in the other reviews from people yes the cables are a nightmare to get back into their little compartment, hence the 4 stars and not 5 from me. The integrated carry handle can also be used to prop the lid open, while the lid itself has a cable storage slot so everything stays neat while you’re enjoying your picnic. From our experience, it is important to carefully examine the features of a particular product to make sure it will match up to the conditions under which you will be using it.

The best thermoelectric coolboxes can lower the temperature by about 30°C below the ambient temperature which means they can be used all year round in the UK. A useful tip is to cool for an hour or two and then turn off the power – the insulation is so good that you can easily last a weekend using just a standard pre-charged leisure battery – of course on electric hookup or a battery pack like the Ecoflow Delta 2 then you’ll have no power limitations and can just run pretty much permanently. For the money the Aldi coolbox is great value, and the fact that you got by with it in France just goes to proove that, the OP was wanting to use it for storing Chicken etc, which is not what it's intended for.As mentioned, the carry handle is robust and will easily carry a fully laden box, but you wouldn’t want to carry it too far in this state – feels like it’s dragging your arm out of its socket! If you need a proper cooker to do this though, be sure to check out our guide on camping stoves and kettles. Some of the bigger cool boxes come with wheels so that is a good option if you need a really big cool box. If you're into trekking, want something for the odd picnic, or to keep your lunch cool for work A cooler bag may be the way to go. However, they are brilliant while camping as long as you have power because you don’t have the hassel of changing ice blocks.

Three-Way Fridge – not the name of your favourite ‘exotic’ film, but rather a description of the expensive absorption coolers which can run on gas cannisters, 12V and 240V.Compressor cool boxes These top-of-the range coolers usually start at 40 litres and resemble a mini-fridge.

I'm a cynical old bugger, if a company is not heralding the exceptional performance of their product, then I consider it's likely to be inferior to the competition and they've nothing to boast about! The cooler offers a 35 litre capacity in total which we found to be a good compromise for small to medium sized family trips away.We bought every product we tested, so you can be sure our opinion isn't biased by us receiving freebies.
