About this deal

These folks are very good evidence for the idea Warhammer 40k is all about mean looks and big shoulders. The Ion Blasters would cost 1 point per swap while the rest of the upgrades are either 5, 10, or 20 points in the case of the Magna-rail rifle. To us, it seems most likely that these figures will retail in boxes on 10 when they are eventually released – after all, most Warhammer 40,000 troop units tend to clock in around that kind of number.

As you can see in the images above, there are a handful of mould lines on him – but nothing so large as to be difficult or hazardous to the miniature to remove. The race is divided into specialised Cloneskeins: stable mutations with traits for radiation resistance, fast reactions, or the psychic sensitivity to operate trans-Warp technology. Apart from the arms, his pose is fixed, standing atop two slabs of rock, though you can choose between a helmet or bare head, and the kit is also compatible with the heads from the Hearthkyn kit. The Warhammer 40K Leagues of Votann Army Set contains miniatures, rules, and tokens needed to run a Leagues of Votann army in Warhammer 40K. They don't move too zippy across the field, but when they strike it's with extreme power and heft behind their hits. The datacards and especially the token sheet will be very useful, and the transfer sheets come with symbols for each of the 5 named leagues as well as numbers and general symbols for marking out your squads (thats squads not squats). There are several army-wide rules for the Leagues of Votann, a big one being the Eyes of the Ancestors. These are all Kin versions of weapon types that exist in other 40k armies though their characteristics may differ.

Some people consider Datacards to be a bit of a needless cash-grab (the argument being that all the info is in the codex, so why spend more on a packet of cards with the same info? If you aren’t able to net yourself one of the boxes, you’re going to have to wait for the individual units and figures to receive their own releases.

Whether you like the way the models look or not (I happen to love them -- they kind of look like squat T'au with Dwarf heads stuck on top), the lore is absolutely full of reasons to fall in love with these grim little dudes. Dangerous, mean, and really tough to make a dent in – particularly if you can’t actually see them for the ton of judgement tokens you may find yourself drowning in.
