About this deal

Luckily I got a miracle child with ivf but a friend has recently adopted and this has really helped me understand what she has been through too. So here I would like to recommend this book no matter if you have children or not, or if you are having trouble falling pregnant you may find some suggestions in Lisa's book Meant to Be. For anyone who has ever found themselves facing the unexpected in life - whether that's infertility, adoption, grief or any other personal challenge - this is an uplifting and honest account of finding love in unexpected places, and building your life on your own terms.

I didn’t need to worry, everyone had confidence in me – I had confidence in myself somewhere too, I just needed to find it. Having experienced infertility before going on to have my own children, I felt a strong bond with Lisa and hope that others will be able to take comfort from her story.Exactly the same as Lisa; I did not share everything I went through during my IVF journey, which is now a blur, as I could not cope with the scrutiny or expectation of IVF, so my husband and I kept the burden to ourselves. I cried through a lot of this book, not for sadness of what was not to be but of the grief I felt at the time and wasn’t able to express.

It was just a bag, but I had really wanted to use it; filling it with nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, snacks and a book had brought me so much joy. Life can be unexpected; my plan was to be in a happy marriage with a biological child, and look how that turned out. From the moment I heard Lisa talking to Chris Evans on Virgin Radio, I knew I needed to read this book. This book is good for anyone who has been through this, or, equally, for those who haven’t, to gain an understanding of this difficult journey.

Lisa's first book was published in 2012 and was a Sunday Times bestseller, and she has subsequently written 3 other cookery books. It seemed that as soon as my biological clock started ticking, it escalated to a disco beat pretty damn fast. An easy listen with a lot of relatable content, but lacked the depth of was looking for in the topic of adoption.
