About this deal

They had so much stuff to work through – I truly didn’t think this book would have a happy ending for a while! The two embark on a baggage-free, whirlwind love affair, cliff-jumping into gem-colored Mediterranean waters and exploring the splendor of the Italian coast. The best thing about reading Love Your Life was that I got to buddy read it with my friend Amanda (her thoughts are similar to mine, if you wondered). At the end, they had to learn to love each other's life too, if they want to spent their lifetime together. In brief: Ada is over online dating, but on an anonymous writing retreat she falls in love with Dutch.

Another laugh-out-loud romantic comedy featuring kilted musicians, Renaissance Faire tavern wenches, and an unlikely love story. Kinsella's clever romance about the nature of compromise alternates laugh-out-loud humor with moments that will tug at readers' heartstrings. A resolve to be a giant among men, to conquer, plunder and seize the greatness that he thinks is his right. You could feel when Ava and "Dutch" ran into tiny disagreements and slowly feel the build of their relationship throughout. Well, Dan and Sylvie are a couple who decide to try and add some surprises into their marriage to keep things interesting. And of course Matt’s pretentious, icy cold, irritating family members who adore his ex girlfriend don’t help to fix their problems. The plot is quirky, with Dutch turning out to be involved in possibly the least likely business for a hero (especially one who is serious about martial arts).

Love Your Life is as warm as the Italian sunshine and full of fun: a fabulous Italian appetizer, like a platter of antipasti; a stunning, satisfying mix of romance and real life, with characters whom you will fall in love with and who will leave you smiling with joy. Having Matt’s POV would have balanced it out some more: we would understand him better, get his unfiltered thoughts on Ava and everything that surrounds her, as well as his thoughts on his family, his ex-girlfriend, and the family business. This was super enjoyable – I don’t have any major complaints, aside from the usual drama at the end to force the couple apart. The not-so-good: Sometimes the main character is similar between books – but then I don’t read Sophie Kinsella for boring, predictable heroines. They both form a picture of who the other person really is and declare their love by the end of the retreat. There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit!
