About this deal

They were described by John Daly as 'the face that sank a thousand ships' during a charity event at the Odyssey in Belfast.

And I actually still get nervous before every show, because it's always a unique audience - should it be a matinee in the middle of the week, or a Saturday night at Christmas Eve. The tour had opened on 20 January at the Grand Opera House in Belfast, Jimmy’s birth place though he has lived in Rochdale for many years with his wife May Mulgrew. It is 10 years since May McFettridge first swanned out on to the stage of the Belfast Grand Opera House, seized the Christmas pantomime by the scruff of its scrawny neck and gave it a good pummelling. May McFettridge stars in this hilarious comedy about the known and the unknown by a women who knew nothing in the first place. David Hull Promotions, one of Northern Ireland’s leading Entertainment Agencies for over 30 years, is co-producing the show. May McFettridge is, without doubt, part of the Christmas furniture at the Grand Opera House, and from now until January 14, children and adults alike can expect laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery and beautiful costumes as May stars as May of the Mirror in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – clocking up a record-breaking 33 Grand Opera House pantomime seasons. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is directed and choreographed by Jonny Bowles who won Best Choreography for the Theatre’s production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the 2022 Pantomime Awards, and lighting design is by Graham McLusky who was nominated for Best Lighting Design at The Great British Pantomime Awards in 2018.

Michael also produces The London Palladium’s pantomimes, and his current show, The Wizard of Oz, is enjoying a sell-out run at the venue before it embarks on a UK and Ireland tour, which includes a week at the Grand Opera House in May 2024. Also appearing in the show on Thursday 5 September with Jimmy and John were Gene Fitzpatrick and George Jones.
