Persona 5 Royal has finally been announced for Nintendo Switch. After years of waiting, and plenty of outcry from fans, players will be able to take on the adventure of the Phantom Thieves on the go. It’s all part of a series of Persona ports making their way to the handheld console. Persona 5 isn’t the first one in the set to release, so fans will have to wait a while to be reunited with Joker and the gang. As with the Xbox, PC and PS5 releases, Persona 5 Royal will be the first game to be ported to the Nintendo Switch on October 21, 2022. P5R will have a physical Nintendo Switch release, while P3P and P4G will be available as digital only titles. Persona 4 Golden is the most similar to Royal and is probably our recommended starting point if you want to try out all three games on Switch. It's the most lighthearted entry and strikes a balance between the randomised dungeons of P3P to the stylised Palaces of P5R.

Persona 5 Royal really sets the bar high for modern turn-based JRPGs with its dungeons. The game's Palaces are all uniquely styled dungeons ranging from a Castle to a Casino, and each has puzzles and a unique layout that you need to make your way through. Mementos, another dungeon, is part of the Metaverse and consists of randomised layouts and paths, so it's closer to the dungeons of Persona 3 and 4.

Players will be pleased to learn that the "Persona 5" Nintendo Switch edition will also include every DLC made available for the PS4 version, finally spreading the enjoyment to more platforms, according to NME.com. Royal is an enhanced version of the original "Persona 5" game that includes extra content, new social media links, and a somewhat modified primary plot. I personally think the Switch version doesn't look too bad and I really am just playing the Switch version because of the portability but if I wanna play on a big screen I'll just play one of the other releases like on the Playstation or my computer. Persona 5 base game on PS4 was my first and only foray into the series and it was an unquestionable joyous pleasure. As it seems is the case with a lot of other Atlus offerings the game is split between two genres, this time- JRPG & Life Sim. Also the case with many Atlus games, Persona 5 just oozes endless style, flare, polish and pizazz. The visuals, music & content are all phenomenal.
