You are not alone in suddenly becoming 'twitchers' we are very lucky to have such a wide variety of birds that come to the cottage. I hope the owners felt that we had left the house clean and tidy, as I spent the day making sure I left it as we found it. Plan to stay in the picture-postcard Suffolk seaside village of Walberswick and base yourselves at this New England-style retreat. We loved the garden and peaceful setting with so much nature around including the wonderful variety of birds.

The market towns of Beverley and Driffield aren't far away, whilst the coastal delights of Hornsea and Bridlington also make for lovely outings. Enjoying idyllic, countryside views on the outskirts of Coniston, East Riding of Yorkshire is this welcoming, semi-detached cottage of 2 Lane End Cottages. We loved the secluded setting, the warmth of the log burner on a chilly evening and the beautiful shared gardens. The interior is dotted with delightful floral features to bring a real homely feel; kick back and relax in a number of welcoming spots, including a warming sitting room dominated by an attractive stone fireplace with a woodburner, a smaller reading room for some quieter downtime and a light-filled conservatory looking out over the gardens. In a roadside setting close to the sought-after market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, this truly is one not to miss. I have been coming up to Walberswick since childhood, and then with my late husband and our children and since then grandchildren too. Angela and Steve are the perfect hosts, the welcome is warm, the cottage is homely, the gardens are beautiful and the surrounding area offers so much to enjoy. All home comforts and every part of the garden was used, we enjoyed barbecues, playing Kubb and relaxing. We are very fortunate to live where we do and to be able to share it with like minded people is a joy. Lovely peaceful week in a lovely cottage, this was our fourth vist; as you may have guessed, we like it here!There are two outside seating areas, a small courtyard outside the barn, providing a great spot to sit with a coffee and appreciate the beautiful morning sunrise, with a further point which is shared with the owners and accessed across the farmyard to sit and take in the countryside views of the valley beyond.
