I love knowing that the unit will dehumidify if my house gets high humidity but also won't overflow if it gets full. I bought mine based upon Consumer Reports’ praise for these and reviews here and I haven’t been disappointed. My only issue so far was my electricity flashed on and off a couple times last night from the winter storm but stayed on. The MAD35S1QWT supports Alexa and Google voice control, which allow you to turn the unit on and off and change humidity target levels and fan speed.With a slimline and compact design, it weighs just 6kg, and the built-in handle and castor wheels make moving it from room to room a breeze. The inside of the house stays a consistent 40% when running the upstairs unit off and on through the day and night. I already had the Midea app up and running, but if this is your first Midea device, you’ll have to download the app and create an account.

You can also set the fill level of the tank; despite its name, the 20-pint model can collect up to three gallons of water. Think small window air conditioner, not box fan (in terms of electricity use) and you have the idea. I would recommend this unit and if it were in the house I am sure it would be doing a fantastic job by itself.

Another great feature of this dehumidifier is that it has an auto-stop feature when the tank is full, so you can leave this running when you’re not around and have no worries about it overflowing.

Brought a 1200 square foot apartment from 65+% humidity down to 35% in just under 4 days of running around the the clock and the mildew smell was 90% gone. Fortunately the console and the phone app both allow you to configure it to do a high water shut off far earlier than the physical bucket becoming full, if you want to stop it at 25%, 50%, 75% for weight reasons. One thing we really love is the inclusion of a timer, so, when it’s running in the bedroom, it can be timed to switch off just before bedtime and then start back up again in the morning.

I don't know if it is an app issue or an issue with the dehumidifier but I am feeling less confident about this than I was at first. It can’t get rid of mould or its cause, whether that be too much condensation, a leak, or some other issue, but it’s a good tool to have in your armoury to keep mould at bay. You’ll need to switch the dehumidifier off and remove the filter, before cleaning it according to the model’s information manual.
