This book is a wonderful opportunity to get to know Henry more as he lets you inside his crazy and different world. As one of the best books by Henry Rollins, you get so much value from it and come out with the feeling like you’ve known Henry for most of your life. It’s a feeling you don’t want to miss if you are a huge fan of his. The stories you get to read inside are some of the realest moments and thoughts that Henry has had throughout his life and career. At times, the book can be depressing, dark, and twisted but it can also be very inspiring and encouraging. You get to read about other people’s suffering and experiences through hard times so that you will get a feeling of comfort if you are going through something similar. Help For Your Darkest Moments Rollins continued to take notes of the music featured on his show, and wanted to preserve them in book form along with scans of set lists, flyers and other music-related materials he had been collecting since the 70s. These volumes Stay Fanatic!!! Vol. 1, Stay Fanatic!!! Vol. 2 and Stay Fanatic!!! Vol. 3 were published in 2018, 2021 and 2022, respectively. [72] Online journalism [ edit ]

Henry Rollins Stay Fanatic!!! Vol. 3 – 2.13.61 - 2.13.61 Henry Rollins

Overall, this is a wonderful collection of the most important and memorable words from his first five books. Those five are some of the most popular Rollins books so you can expect to have a very enjoyable time reading what’s in this collection. Just remember to take breaks and don’t consume the entire thing in one day. This is the best book by Rollins that is going to offer some eye-opening truths about America and much more. What Henry is trying to deliver through this book is another series of frustrating opinions about certain topics of interest for him and for many others like him. In 1986, he began thinking about the contents inside the book and started collecting his thoughts to deliver this amazing book. Selfishly, my favorite part of the show is in our second hour. I found audio of the first time I ever saw the Cramps. It’s as great as I remember. December is here. It’s a vacuum. Since there’s nothing I can do to change the reality of my past, the absolute truth of the information or how I process it, I accept it completely. It’s like accepting death and cold. I just do it. Even though it hits me harder as I get older, I’m far more destroyed than I used to be. So, while the horror is more profound, the fact I am—to a great degree—dead, in a lot of ways neutralizes the effects. I liken it to shooting yourself in the head, watching the brain matter slide down the wall and then doing something else. [75] Podcasts [ edit ] What are your memories of your time at 52 Harold Mount, Leeds, and recording those early solo/Rollins Band records at Off Beat Studios ? Davehumanfly The show isn’t a long discourse on COVID or previous presidents. I think that’s kind of boring and well-treaded material. And everyone has an opinion, and they don’t necessarily need mine. And so, I’ve tried to basically hit them where they ain’t, to use a baseball idea. It looks like California is in for some weather. Los Angeles isn’t built for heavy rainfall. I hope the state makes it through.this book is bleak as shit. that's putting it mildly. three of the six portions of the book are rollins' journal entries from the month of december in 2019, 2020, and 2020—december being the hardest month for him, as his friend joe cole was murdered in december of 1991, and more than anything else, these journal entries are rollins trying to deal with the grief that he's never really found the way to process in a healthy way. Reading about Henry’s point of view about the reality of life can be a powerful thing. The emotions that he expresses through the words in this book are quite memorable and influential. Many of the things he talks about are from his own life and it’s surprising how relatable they are as most of them are things we have all felt, experienced, or thought about at some point in our lives. The six years Henry wants you to be a part of are filled with some very exciting adventures that involve all kinds of weird and obsessed fans, cops as crazy as mad dogs, a lot of substance abuse, and some of the most memorable night drives. My parents should have never mated with anyone, especially each other. They both know what they are. They know I know what they are and I’m pretty sure they know what I am.When my parents split, Mom hit the ground running. She was a motivated young professional working in education. I was a totally hyper child. She didn't know what to do. She didn't have friends who were parents. They would come over for gin and tonics, cigarettes and to bitch about Nixon. Her peer group was motivated feminist types who had boyfriends but weren't looking to get married. They didn't live off men. The new Marnie album is such a great return. It had been so long since the last album, I thought she was finished. I thought that was a shame as she’s so talented and her albums are such a blast. So reading Sic was a jolt. The façade is gone here, as is the music voice that makes him feel better about things. Instead, rage and trauma over the murder of his best friend Joe Cole in 1991, as the pair were returning from a show. Rollins has been up front in his anger about this since the day it happened, and continues here. Passages describe how he would murder the assailants who killed Cole and narrowly missed shooting Rollins. He’ll kill them with his bare hands, he says, murder their families. They are the product of USA. Not the USA, as in United States of America, but USA, something like ’Murica, the gun-obsessed capitalist society of the spectacle that enables murder and consumption.
