About this deal
If I have it connected to a switched USB supply, it would be great if it would just turn on and turn off when it gains/loses power, effectively bypassing the internal battery I guess.
I highly recommend the Anker AK-A3341011 Soundsync A3341 Bluetooth 2-In-1 Transmitter and Receiver to anyone wanting to bring 20th century technology into the 21st century. So it connects over bluetooth to phone (what you want) then wired connects to AUX to transmit phone audio to AUX (what you want, to the audio in of your car). I had this issue yesterday with the Anker PowerConf S500 and the included Anker SoundSync A3303 USB adapter. So long as your car has an AUX port this tiny gadget is the perfect way of modernising a car, even if it’s just for the hands-free capabilities. It can also pair with two separate devices at once, a nifty way of making longer journeys with others more palatable. In fact, I’m still the rightful owner of a set of M-Audio monitors, which while not being the best monitors in the world, definitely suit my day-to-day needs.
Keep in mind that this is a Bluetooth TRANSMITTER ONLY: You plug it into an Audio Out and connect Bluetooth headphones to it.
Even the cheapest city cars come with Bluetooth as standard as car manufacturers embrace streaming as the dominant form of audio on the move. I was looking at this and wondered if I would have to keep pluggging it in and out depending on if I wanted the sound to come from the tv or headphones via the Bluetooth. Then, for the audio output of the Anker SoundSync A3303 you toggle mute on, mute off, mute on, and finally mute off.
