Each Apollo mission gets its own chapter, with an introductory page about the astronauts, the mission and the photography (it isn't just 'here are some photos', it's a book about photography in space), then you get the shots. The back matter includes information about the development of space photography, photographic equipment, the restoration process, a list of acronyms, and a list of internet sites with more information.

As described at the end of the book, the images were digitally scanned from the original master images from the missions that have been kept in cold storage. I visited Cape Kennedy in 1970 and had the opportunity to see the equipment involved in the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programmes. Andy is a regular contributor to science-based media and appears on TV, radio, and as a guest speaker at events to discuss the history of spaceflight, photography and digital image enhancement / restoration. He has now put out the book and it is incredible - if you want a coffee table picture book of Apollo, this is the one to get.Although there are many breathtaking photos, my favorite may be Ed White, gazing into the heavens from his Gemini IV capsule. This book, like all of his work, is much more than a thrill to behold; it's a profound contribution to our understanding of humanity's exploration of the heavens. Andy is an image-processing wizard, and has brought the missions' images to life in a whole new way.
