I can't comment about Luis, from the 150 pages or so I read, his sole purpose of existence is to be the bad guy.

Some of the book had me cracked out laugh but it wasn't enough to make me change my mind about the rating. Daisy, our protagonist, is and/or was heartbroken by a character in one of Paige Toon's previous books Johnny Be Good.

Now, when I meet up with friends we all chat about her books, and I make sure that as soon as the release date is set for her next book, it's saved into my diary so I can get ready to immerse myself in the life of her characters as soon as it's ready! what she does no is that she that she has never loved anyone as much as she loves Luis, she has fallen in love with him more ever day they have been together.I loved the idea of this story and I like the idea of fictional characters Daisy and Luis living together happily somewhere in bookland. It could've been simple like that and then I would have finished the book with a smile on my face and never would I think, "Well this book just got stupid. The story develops nicely from the start and then unexpectedly twists - I couldn't put it down and I certainly wasn't expecting the twist. Not to add how terribly other characters, with the exception of Luis, the only insane one, fell in in love with Daisy and desired to be with her while he was treated like trash by her, is so over to me!

Daisy is completely unlikable, as for that matter is Holly who is also having an affair, but who I am also supposed to feel for because the wife of this man is a complete bitch. It showed promise and after reading the prologue and the first chapter I was well and truly set on the notion that I was going to enjoy the book. Their relationship is challenged by the other driver for the team, Luis; a roguish, bad boy Brazilian with a potty mouth to rival Daisy's. What is this - cheating, death of a main character = A painful reading experience for me, it doesn't equate to a enjoyable romance that I can sink in to. I really liked the prologue and the first few chapters featuring Daisy and Luis; I was ready for a fun, feisty rollercoaster til they got their HEA but then the bulk of the book went on to be about Daisy's relationship with Luis' team mate, Will.

I do love how she can curse and swear at someone in Italian one minute and go completely tongue tied when speaking to someone she’s attracted to the next. this time for a man who is prepared to risk his life, and his heart, for the sake of speed, danger and ultimate success.
