About this deal

Charles Vincent learns the answer to that question when his car slides over an ocean cliff into the water. A thought-provoking and moving story of second chances and living the best life from the world's favourite storyteller, Danielle Steel.

I don’t think they still have any contact with her (she did turn up about 200 miles away living a new life. In Without a Trace, Danielle Steel tells an irresistible story of the risks two people are willing to take in exchange for a second chance at the life they’ve always wanted. As Charles and the new woman he’s fallen madly in love with face devastating complications, the only truth is their love and devotion to each other. Their connection is instant, and as she nurses him back to health, Charles begins to discover the passion he’s been missing for so many years. Charles Vincent seems to have it all—a beautiful wife, two successful children, and a well-paying career. But Aude has secrets of her own, and before long their pasts catch up to them, threatening everything they have fought to build. I think I’d enjoy reading this for the settings but not so much for the character developement or romance. Feeling stuck in a stressful job and a loveless marriage, Charlie Vincent's life feels stagnate until turning upside down after a car crash. But his life changes forever as he drives along the Normandy coast, heading to their lavish château for the weekend.

In Without a Trace, Danielle Steel tells an irresistible story of the risks two people are willing to take in exchange for a chance at the life they’ve always wanted.even though we were told over and over how wonderful he is and loyal and blah blah (book is all tell and zero show) oh and he admits to cheating on his wife throughout the marriage. They have an instant connection, and as she nurses him back to health, Charles begins to discover the passion he’s been missing for so many years. This is without a doubt one of the worst books I have ever read - well, listened to (as an audio book). After this random hookup, the man is so enamored with this gorgeous younger woman that he lets his family think he is dead for MONTHS.

Charles manages to get out of the car and swim to safety and even manages to climb up the cliff and back onto the road, where he walks, in the dark, until he finds a remote cabin. He manages to stumble upon the house of a gorgeous younger woman living on the outskirts of town who opens up the door and lets said injured, bloody man in. After gathering the courage to climb to safety, he starts to walk—bruised, bloody, and desperate for help.

January 7, 2023 by Jathan Fink Leave a comment A near-death experience makes one man reevaluate his life in Danielle Steel’s Without a Trace. This book is drivel, and it's taking up space in a competitive market just because of the author, and that author is no longer doing work that is worthy of being published.

I must say that it took me a while to understand that while in America, the family would have had to wait a number of years for him to have been declared dead since there was no found body, and then they could split the estate. The setting is gorgeous, part of the book is set in Paris, some of it is set in Charles’s lavish château in Normandy, and part of it is set in Aud’s small cabin, also in Normandy.

I’ve always wondered about people who can just walk away from life, and in Without a Trace, we get to see a man walk away from a lavish lifestyle, his wife, and two grown children. There were many times I felt the story was repetitive and the same points were being made over and over again. Without a Trace by Danielle Steel is a fast-moving romantic suspense set in France, about a man who decides to change his life after a near-fatal accident. But trapped in a job he doesn’t like and wife who wants to live the life of luxury, he is anything but happy. Charlie is an empathetic character with a huge heart that readers will fall for, one who is faced with a choice many of us sometimes dream about, especially when we face insurmountable odds and relentless stress.
