I think prologues really help set up a story so I awarded bonus points for its inclusion in this book. It was such a finely balanced novel, with lots of darkness but also the beauty of art, food, music and of course, love!

I was not expecting this book to be so deep and interesting so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at how well the author dealt with complicated relationship dynamics.

It was unpredictable what was going to happen with the relationship, knowing it may not be the happily ever after for the characters and that’s what had me racing through the pages and not wanting to put this down.
