Pros: Good solid constructionReflective tape that runs freely and doesn't snag or twist (tape version) which is easy to see from a distance, therefore warningcyclists etc (very often cords are hard to see) and nice when roadside walking to be seen by traffic.better than i expected I have my little westie on it "overkill" you might think but I have seen people lose their dogs on these kind of leads. The tape is a nice fluro-yellow colour that makes it clear to other people (even from a distance) that my dogs are on a lead, even if we’re not that close. I have made this improvement to ours, but could do with something about 3 feet long to really make it work properly.

It hangs naturally when the dog is walking or running politely, and feels absolutely secure in the hand when restraining. She cannot come off lead because of high prey drive so this allows her the freedom to explore, sniff and just enjoy herself. That includes probably hundreds of harsh mountain hikes (I live quite near the Yorkshire Dales) and countryside treks. In the early days I was concerned the ends may shear, but they have not and I am now very confident in it's strength. Comfortable to hold and surprisingly light due to its ergonomic design; fits/rests in the palm of your hand rather nicely. it is also robust even when the tape is weakened, whilst i wasn't looking my dog chewed a 100mm section that ended up peppered with teeth holes, but it still didn't fail when the dog was pulling or giving it a shock test.

I have a boisterous and very strong (adult) English Springer, and he loves the 'freedom' of galloping around a large 'circle' when given free rein. A lot of people did sharp intakes of breath and eyebrow raising because this is a lot of money for a lead however i say in this case you get what you pay for! Reels in easily, and if needed, thanks to the tape you can grab hold of the extension without burning your fingers. An improvement to this lead would be the addition of a fixed length of lead so that the dog is not walking under foot.
