About this deal

I also enjoyed that although this is stand alone the story and romance felt well rounded and complete at the end.

It was crazy to me that this was a Cinderella retelling because it felt like something entirely new but it still captured the essence of the fairytale. Outside of the plot and writing that was a bullseye for me, there were some thoughtfulness that the author drops into the story. Em made a bargain with her stepmother unknowingly after her father died and has to fulfil it every single day until she turns 19 years old.

With the social season in full swing, and bringing with it a horde of husband-hungry socialites, he’ll do anything to delay the pressures of both marriage and the crown. As for a retelling of Cinderella this book captured all the main aspects of the tale without it being too much like the original. Wanting past the bluster and sparkle and having been wounded by the past and being very wary of the future. She's waiting the last days to go by and she could finally be free, but something doesn't go as planned. This was a fresh and very satisfying Cinderella story complete with hot fae, magical twists and a beautiful love story.

Especially when, desperate to elude a forced marriage, she ends up agreeing to a new bargain with Maisie, the youngest princess of the Sea Court, which leads to her parading as Franco's new love interest. My frustration when Ember was backed into a corner only enhanced my feelings and attachments towards the story and characters. i despised the stepmother and stepsisters so much that i had to put the book down multiple times and tell myself that they're supposed to be vile and annoying but like. I've already loved this world for some time now, but the characters, reveals, personal growth and HEA ending were my favorite parts. If you are left behind or without the gown I’ve gifted you, the tickets will turn to ice and shatter, rendering them useless. There were so many elements to this story that it nearly should have felt cramped or overwhelming, but it just worked.

None of that nonsense about a prince not recognizing a woman he supposedly fell in love with one beautiful night. He also has a reputation that proceeds him, so every woman or mother is throwing themselves or their daughters at him. With the social season in full swing, and bringing with it a horde of husband-hungry socialites, he\'ll do anything to delay the pressures of both marriage and the crown. Ember was originally introduced in Curse of the Wolf King as a side character, while Franco gathered some diehard fans in To Wear a Fae Crown (The Fair Isle Trilogy, set twenty years before the Entangled with Fae series). I will honestly say I went into this book because of this phrase “ ACOTAR meets Bridgerton in this standalone fairytale retelling of Cinderella“.
