About this deal

They perform for the whole season, but when Diamond falls off the springboard and hurts herself, and is threatened by her master, Hetty takes Diamond and they run away. After putting together a ventriloquist show and naming themselves the little stars, Hetty learns that it’s actually harder work than it looks. He was still very flirty as he was in Sapphire Battersea but this time it felt like he really, really cared deeply for Hetty, aswell as Diamond. I mean, speaking of marrying your much younger foster sister when you're a young child yourself and have no real understanding of the difference between platonic and romantic is one thing, but to persist in that idea as an adult. Speaking of my favourites, dear Gideon, for the short time we saw him again, managed to make me love him even more than I already did.

This is the fifth book of the Hetty Feather series, and needless to say, I also adored this book, and still do. Overall it was very enjoyable and a pleasure to read, a good finishing point at this story but there is still a lot more Jacqueline could do and I hope she does! She has written over 100 books and is the creator of characters such as Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather.Soon the girls are famous and after four other books, you should know, there's no stopping Hetty Feather! Hetty takes Diamond to visit Bignor and Flora, who's got a new friend in the show, Lucy Locket, the littlest woman in the world. I absouloutly love this series, I loved it the first time I ever read it (this was a re-read) and I managed to force a few friends to read it too. A while later, Martha was sent back to the Hospital, then Saul and after it was Gideon and Hetty's turn. Decided to reread them during a reading slump, and the ending is so perfect - hetty's story being complete now makes everything happy.

This final stretch of Hetty's story (which seemed to end just a wee bit too suddenly, I might add), entrancingly narrated in my beloved simple-yet-appropriately-inviting style of Jacqueline Wilson's, manages to combine the new and exciting with the old and comfortingly familiar so well, among other things, by reintroducing one of my old favourites from all the way back in book 2, in a whole new light and yet so obviously still the same old dear at the core.Jacqueline is also a great reader, and has amassed over 20,000 books, along with her famous collection of silver rings. When she is giving autographs he simply says how he doesn't want Emerald Star, just simply Hetty Feather. Anyway I love this series so much and now I don't want to read any other books as I just want more books about Hetty. When exactly was unclear to me, which occasionally felt like a shortcoming, but most of the time I did not mind.
