About this deal

We're always happy to answer any questions or queries you might have, please get in touch using one of the methods below. The Secret of the Irish Castle by Santa Montefiore is a sweeping saga about family, fortunes lost and won, secrets, and love.

As long-held secrets come to light, the Deverills will have to heal old wounds and come to terms with the past if they hope to ensure their legacy for the future. And in its case, it would be fair to say that it is not just a family saga but a great stonking Irish soap opera with all the twists and turns appropriate to a television show. Readers who are coming to this after the other two books will not be surprised by any of the resolutions but readers who are picking this up without reading the other two books are likely to be a bit confused by the history they are missing. Since then, every male Deverill heir has been trapped in a limbo inside the castle upon their death. I look forward to reading her expanding novels, although I seem to savour them for the right moment as I never want to not have one of her novels to look forward to on my TBR shelf. FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES TOP FIVE, MILLION-COPY BESTSELLING AUTHOR - be swept away by the Deverill Chronicles. With lives intertwined, hearts broken, secrets unravelled, and battles won and lost, the final, enthralling chapter of the Deverill family is packed with high drama, heartbreaking emotion and Montefiore’s trademark insight and sensitivity.

Now, in 1939, the Deverill Castle has fallen out of Deverill hands and has been bought up by former housemaid Bridie after she came into money in New York. England, 1932: Grace Hamblin, the beekeeper's daughter, knows her place and her future, until her father dies. Born in England in 1970 Santa Montefiore grew up on a farm in Hampshire and was educated at Sherborne School for Girls.

This one took me a little while to read and review because I had to find and read re second book before I could read this one. She converted to Judaism in 1998 and married historian Simon Sebag Montefiore in the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in London. In the last part of the trilogy, which follows on from Songs of Love and War and The Daughters of Castle Deverill, we meet up again with the dynamic family whose lives have been linked through decades of love, war and betrayal. As the shadow of WWII draws closer and then through the war and out the other side, mistakes will be made, hearts will be broken, relationships will be revisited and reclaimed for good or for ill, and a tangle of lies and deceit will unravel.Castle Deverill, cherished home to the Deverill family in the west of Ireland for hundreds of years, has burned to the ground. However the characters and the setting were charming and I suppose this would be ok for a holiday read or something. As in the other books, love and family are terribly important but here the theme of forgiveness is tantamount. I needn't have worried though - the intimate, character-led storytelling that was sadly lacking in the second book was back and it felt like the first book all over again, familiar and cozy.

Set in the ruggedly wild countryside of West Cork, Ireland, in the early part of the twentieth century, Songs of Love and War is an epic tale of three very different women all born in the year 1900: Kitty Deverill, the flame-haired Anglo-Irish daughter of the castle, Bridie Doyle, the daughter of the cook and Celia Deverill, Kitty's flamboyant Engl.

Summer is not complete without a new novel from number one bestselling author Santa MontefioreIt is 1939 and peace has flourished since the Great War ended. Santa Montefiore's involving and dramatic novel The Butterfly Box opens in Vina del Mar, Chile, in the sweltering Summer of 1982. No problem as I quickly became immersed in the lives of the families in Ballinakelly in rural Ireland.
