About this deal

In daily life I practice healing and helping I infuse natural Alaskan herbal healing oils and share them without cost to others. Going into this book you think you’ll learn something about this “new” gospel, instead, you mostly end up learning about a woman who is oddly obsessed with Christianity despite saying that she’s not Christian (and then going back on her own story) and despite disliking most everything Christianity teaches. I suppose I was expecting more from Mary and less from Meggan but it was still an enlightening and enjoyable read with some deeply touching insights that confirm the very personal and direct relationship I've cultivated and come to know between myself and The Christ.

Literally stopped reading this when she said “If you stop reading after this sentence, then this is the most important thing you need to hear. I was so excited for this book, but she goes on and on about feminism and retells stories already in revealed.A shocking lack of references, very little content from the actual gospel of Mary Magdalene, and too much blog-post type memoir/sermon-like writing. Becoming a Christian in my early twenties and belonging to a church community was the closest I ever came to feeling as though I'd found it .

She is a feminist theologian with a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University. And while I truly believe that Mary had a much bigger role than what's depicted in the Bible, I don't know that I can agree with the authors MANY liberties and suppositions. Meggan Watterson' s "Mary Magdalene Revealed ", is an initiate, loving and lyrical exploration of the feminine side of spirituality - a spiritual tradition that doesn't oppose the masculine spiritual traditions, but instead, completes them. At one point I put the book down in frustration and turned to the almighty Google, where I learned much more interesting things like the fact that scholars can’t even agree on which Biblical Mary is the supposed author of this gospel.

Her unearthing of the hidden and silenced realities of the first apostle’s life and legacy ignites revelations that will transform the hearts and minds of readers who are ready to claim their own power and spiritual authority. This book isn’t about ‘feminism’ as a movement in itself but the reverence of the feminine, the balance of all things which has to be so for life to exist. I was very confused about this book, I thought I was getting information and stories on Mary Magdalene. If you have even a fleeting interest in spirituality or feminism, or you’re ready to challenge the old ideas of religion and look at them - especially Christianity - from a perspective that feels like it includes you, then this is definitely a book to read.

Its pages will reveal the humble power of your soul and a truth that can be felt but cannot be put into words.I ended up reading a book by someone who was unwilling to accept the status quo in religious doctrine. Most recently they have published a poetry collection titled Maybe (Not) Her, which explores themes of bisexuality and polyamory. The most important message from Mary’s gospel: we are inherently good…Sin is simply forgetting the truth and reality of the soul—then acting from that forgetful state.
