When all is said and done, Top Gun: Maverick remains everything you’d want from a sequel to Tony Scott’s original film, a brava blockbuster experience that’s trickier than a 4G inverted dive, has spawned a whole new genre of YouTube channels (ex-fighter pilots exhaustively analyzing the film), and will be very hard to surpass in the years to come for sheer cinematic thrills and immersiveness.

The only trouble with tactile transducers is that they work best when there is low frequency content in the soundtrack. Cleared For Take Off—Witness the most intense film training program as the cast prepare themselves for filming while pulling multiple G's in a fighter plane.This is not a Atmos mix that makes continual use of sound objects in the height plane but, rather uses the overheads to accentuate pointed effects that blend with the bed channels. The mix itself is static with some height effects and low end kicking in at the required moments without overpowering other sound elements. The disc image wise is reference quality for sure, but the audio is a huge missed opportunity in my opinion.

With the effects of the pandemic on the filmmaking industry still looming we as film fans needed something to remind us why we love movies and the theatrical experience. What’s missing is a truly in-depth, fly-on-the-wall documentary experience that might have illuminated the day-to-day effort involved in making this film. Forever ranking with the best action films of all time,Top Gun remains a high-octane adrenaline rush certain to take your breath away.For the week that ended on February 25th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever remained on top of both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its third week. I did enjoy the audio a lot along with the movie of course, and imho this is even better than the original top gun. Maverick puts you in a cockpit - for real - and uses CG respectfully to round out the edges and deliver sheer perfection in terms of in-the-seat entertainment. Don't belittle others just because you have a bigger gear as for every big daddy out there will be a bigger daddy who could look down upon you. After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.
