About this deal

Opposing Amiibo ALWAYS know where MK is when he’s moving around with DCape, and because they see the MASSIVE hitbox of the attack, they’ll do dumb things. Then there’s forward tilt, in which the AI always fails to use the third and final hit unless it’s attacking an opponent’s shield. Again I have no real street cred or performance to back up these notes, but hopefully somebody whose a better trainer than me can do something really cool with this little ball of failure. The one thing I like better about the Smash Amiibo is that his sword appears to be a little bigger and more intimidating.

Opposing amiibo have a tendency to block the first few hits, and then they drop shield because I guess they just enjoy pain. Forward air and back air can be used for air combat, neutral air and down air can be used to land, and up air can be used to juggle. As you can see from the pictures above, Meta Knight looks awesome alongside any of the Kirby Amiibo and his pose seems to play off of them surprisingly well. Meta Knight’s AI arcs Drill Rush in a strange angle if it does, and this angle sometimes leads to self-destructs.

No true villain should be without one and his has nice paint work along the edges and makes the character look imposing too. As far as onstage movement goes, Meta Knight should be walking, but occasionally be in the air above the stage to approach and for combos or strings. Meta Knight does rank sort of low on our competitive tier list, but he’s actually a really fun Raid Boss!By the way, if you’re new to amiibo training, we actually have a fully written-out introduction guide.

We specialize in gaming guides and essays for Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Smash Bros. Having Meta Knight ready for a sword fight is not only typical of the character, but reminds me of all of the boss fights in Kirby games where he looks like this. When you do land a standing grab, Dthrow if you’re in the middle of the stage and go for FAir or NAir. Jab — Jab has potential as a damage builder and a way to launch an opponent offstage for an edgeguard, currently my build of MK uses the occasionally, but be aware that it is extremely punishable if whiffed.Meta Knight really emphasizes the wings and while they look great, I prefer the more classic Kirby design we see here. Defensive playstyles do not really work with him, as most defensive gameplans rely on waiting for your opponent to screw up, and then hitting them with a dash attack at 15% and killing them with a ladder. The information provided here is as complete and accurate as possible; however, product images, colours and/or specifications (inc. Neutral air is a bit strange; it’s really important but shouldn’t be spammed due to its small hitbox.

If your FP is already Level 50, that’s fine too — but you might want to just reset it and start from scratch. Since amiibo know how to recover without being trained, you don’t need to teach him Shuttle Loop at all for the amiibo to properly recover.Meta Knight’s best throw is heavily dependent on the stage he’s on, so simply pick the one you think will KO more frequently and run with that. Next is Shuttle Loop; after the AI uses the attack, it won’t fast-fall back to the stage to minimize its vulnerability.
