About this deal

What charities, how much do they raise, at what point do you know you are established enough to carry such a show? It’s all here, from his disastrous panel show appearances to his hit TV shows, from mistakenly thinking he’d be a good chat show host and talent judge, to finding fame and fortune beyond his wildest dreams and becoming the biggest-selling comedian in the world.

Lots of funny anecdotes that made me laugh out loud and a pleasant way to spend a few hours reading. Along the way he opens his man drawer, narrowly avoids disaster when his trousers fall down in front of three policemen and learns the hard way why he should always listen to his wife. I might be wrong, but in my opinion he now appears to have plateaued in his career, I am not a fan of his show, The Wheel, where to me it feels as if he is coasting on past glories. Something I found interesting is that, while Michael McIntyre has of course achieved a lot, and I don't want to undermine his hard work, so much seemed to happen and grow because of his manager, Addison Cresswell. It was a wonderful and heartwarming story and as someone who loves to see the inner workings of how things are put together and how people get to where they are now I absolutely loved it. The book is quite interesting though as it charts his progress from regular employment, through the comedy scene and into the mainstream media. I like Michael McIntyre's ability to make people laugh without necessarily assassinating people's character or swearing all over the place and he pulls it off in this book too.

Along the way, he opens his man drawer, narrowly avoids disaster when his trousers fall down in front of three policemen and learns the hard way why he should always listen to his wife. His observations of every day life and all it's quirks are what makes him so funny because he relates to all of us in some way. For Michael to bring a character to life so much that in the audio book that you feel you love the guy and you can’t wait to see what he says and does next, is just beautiful. Simply the Best" comes to mind (RIP Tina) but you Michael make my life much happier by writing your books. From record-breaking gigs to his primetime TV show - Michael McIntyre's Big Show - A Funny Life relives the phenomenal, once-in-a-lifetime moments that have shaped Michael's career. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.
