I thought the guy was interesting, and wanted to hear the stories about Freddie Mercury and other famous rock stars I listened to growing up.

Just finished reading the autobiography on the legendary Mr Pike and I’ve gotta say it’s one of the most mind blowing life stories I’ve ever heard! I have to say ,when I started reading this book ,I thought it was going to descend into the mire of vulgarity. It is at this point in which he decides that the white island is where he wants to settle down and set about building his very own private paradise, much of it with his own hands and sweat. He bought and sold an island, owned a marina on the Cote d’Azur and had been pals with far eastern royalty.

A depressing start to the book , but he showed courage despite suffering abuse in his early years ,definitely gives a meaning to work hard play hard definitely the original playboy /party king . The narration of this story is great, and the stories about the rich and famous especially Grace Jones and Kenny Everett’s are shocking and entertaining.

The book barely scratches the surface of Tony’s explorations and accomplishments, even the recounting of his stated enormous sexual appetite was superficial.Escaping to Australia and using his abundant charms to build connections, businesses and attract an endless stream of women, Tony’s hedonistic shenanigans eventually led him to Ibiza where he bought a 500 year old wreck of a finca which became the infamous Pikes hotel. I felt a sadness that long standing relationships were almost a disposable commodity for a promised land that didn't exist.

Great story's told by great man but definitely not for the faint-hearted (in a good way) and you definitely wont get board and it only gets better by the page :) anyway great book definitely one of my favorites now! Not sure what i was expecting after listening to this…no doubt that Tony Pike is a legend and has lived a very fruitful life that many would die for! Seems a bit of a fantasist - how somebody so constantly drugged up can remember half the things he supposedly does amazes me. This guy lived life to the fullest, and if he was around today would be some kind of Instagram influencer which he personally would of hatted. From a successful business life in Australia, and interesting upbringing, his story then turns to Ibiza and the reason he became the man he is remembered for today.If you are looking for a book that shares the beauty of Ibiza and the pleasures of vicariously living through Tony Pike’s experiences you will walk away frustrated. I'm sure there are many people that would frown on the persona of Tony Pike , but I found his account of his life honest and refreshing.
