Ernst Neufert was a German architect who is known as an assistant of Walter Gropius, as a teacher and member of various standardization organizations, and especially for his essential handbook Architects' data. The first English version was published in 1970 and was translated from the original German by Rudolf Herz. Most illustrations are dimensioned and each building type includes plans, sections, site layouts and design details.
The dust jacket is shelf rubbed, edge worn and marked, with creases and small, closed tears along the edges.
Internally, there are tape residue markings on the end papers, and a previous owner's signature on the front end page. Since then, more than half a million books have been printed, in 39 German editions and 17 other languages. It provides, in one concise volume, the core information needed to form the framework for the more detailed design and planning of any building project. Most of the featured illustrations are dimensioned and each building type includes plans, sections, site layouts and design details. It also looks at the design styles and specifications for creating different types of structures, such as those made for residential, commercial, religious, cultural, sports, medical and other types of occupation.
During my studies I discovered this book by accident, and ever since it became part of my architecture bibles! Very good in original laminated card covers with corner creasing and light shelfwear very good minus.Since it was first published in Germany in 1936, Ernst Neufert′s handbook has been progressively revised and updated through 35 editions and many translations.
