About this deal

In 2000, the Earl of Elgin opened "Dewar's World of Whisky" at the Aberfeldy Distillery: this is a centre for marketing the products and educating the public about the process of distillation and history of the Dewar's brand. It is also known for making beautiful 12, 16 and 21-year-old expressions, alongside limited releases finished in a range of different casks. The whisky is aged for 16 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, resulting in a rich and nuanced flavour profile. The demand for barley as a basic foodstuff during World War I led to the distillery being closed from 1917 to 1919. Aberfeldy is known as The Golden Dram due to the alluvial gold that is rumoured to lie in our water source, the Pitilie Burn. It comes across as if scented with spices and honeyed plump fruits, and syrupy, with hints of pineapple and lots of vanilla and fudge, with just a whisper of smoke on the finish. We may terminate or temporarily suspend your account to protect you, ourselves or our partners from (suspected) identity theft or other (suspected) fraudulent (e. I found the tater quite harsh to the pallet and it killed the flavour which I was expecting to be sweet and subtle as it was from a Sherry cask… like I said certain whiskeys split’s opinion and that’s what I like when trying different ones.
