About this deal

The Guru 3000 hybrid memory foam mattress contains 3000 individually encased springs for optimum support. Handcrafted in the UK, this mattress is topped with a 5 cm layer of ultra high-density memory foam and a double layer of springs for a soft, luxury hotel-style feel. This model is available up to super king size. It’s worth understanding that there is only so much space in a mattress, and to achieve these ridiculously high spring counts (i.e. 6,000 plus) the manufacturers are simply using sheets of miniature springs layered on top of each other and reducing upholstery. They are also placing springs within springs to artificially inflate the number of springs on the label. There’s only so much innovation you can do with a spring, such as changing its shape or size. It will have some influence, but is it enough to spend hundreds of pounds more on a new mattress? We take a look at a few of the newer spring types so you can make your own mind up. Bed-in-a-box mattresses can be available in all types – foam, or memory foam, but also hybrid mattresses (combining foam and springs).

Thankfully, this approach has not been adopted by the most respected mattress manufacturers here in the UK. However, we continue to see more and more mattress models adopting this farcical approach to bed making. If you’re a side-sleeper, your spine should be parallel to the mattress, so we use a laser to measure the angle of the spine relative to the bed. When choosing mattress firmness, however, it is important to consider your weight and the weight of anyone who will be using the mattress alongside you. A firmer mattress is perfect for those who may weigh more or share a bed with someone else. But what is most important is choosing the mattress firmness that is right for you. The size of the mattress is also a key consideration. You should choose a mattress that fits your bed frame and provides enough space for you to sleep comfortably. A mattress that’s too small can lead to discomfort and poor sleep quality. By cutting out the retailer and selling direct from manufacturer to consumer, many brands claim you’re getting a higher-quality mattress for less.Size: Make sure to choose a mattress that fits your bed frame and provides enough space for you to sleep comfortably. No one else tests mattresses like we do. And we’re totally independent, so you can have complete confidence in our results. Like bed-in-a-box mattresses, they sometimes need to be aired or left for a fair few hours to regain shape. Once you move away from cheaper mass-produced springs, you then have the option of tailored spring gauges. This means that (depending on your weight) you can choose a soft, medium or firm spring. As a result, you have the potential for split tension mattresses and zip and links. So if you and your partner are different weights, then you can have different tensions to suit each of you. View our Zip & Link Mattresses Trial period and warranty: Look for a mattress with a trial period and a good warranty. This will allow you to test the mattress and return it if you’re not satisfied with it. The warranty will also protect you against defects and damage.

Here at WhatMattress we take mattress research seriously - all our product tests are done as fairly and honestly as possible. Comfort is another key consideration that’s quite subjective and varies from person to person and as a result it’s important to choose a mattress that feels comfortable to you. Look for a mattress with a suitable firmness level and a comfortable top layer, such as a pillow top or memory foam layer, that caters to your sleeping preferences. You’re not alone if you’ve been searching for the perfect mattress but feel overwhelmed by the many options available. In this guide, we’ll break things down straightforwardly to help you find the best mattress. When trying out a mattress in-store, wear comfortable clothing and remove your outdoor gear. Lie on a mattress for at least 10 minutes, in positions you normally sleep in and trying turning over.High-Quality carbon steel spring coil for rust & deformation anti-corrosion which makes our mattress extremely durable. We all know that finding the best mattress is the key to a restful night’s sleep. However, with many options available, mattress shopping can often feel overwhelming. It’s not uncommon to find ourselves torn between numerous choices or frustrated by mattresses that exceed our budget. But what if we could offer you a solution that combines quality, durability, and affordability? Just before 2020, the mattress market saw a flood of new ‘spring innovations’, which were all there to tempt you to certain brands’ mattresses. Spring technology has pretty much remained the same for over a hundred years. The simple spring mechanism works by compressing and extending based on a load applied to it (i.e. a sleeper loading the spring when they lie on a mattress). As the name suggests, only one side of a one-sided mattress is designed to be slept on, so it won't need to be turned over regularly to keep it in good shape.
