About this deal

Blankety Blank returned to British screens in November 2004 as a one-off edition as part of the BBC's annual Children in Need telethon, in which Terry Wogan reprises his role as the host of the show, accompanied by his wand microphone. Show 14 (26 April 1979) - Keith Harris, Karen Kay, Diane Langton, Pete Murray, Isla St Clair, Jerry Stevens [9] Blankety Blank - BBC One London - 2 October 1987". BBC Genome Project. 2 October 1987 . Retrieved 22 April 2020. Christmas Special (27 December 1982) - Lorraine Chase, Dana, Diana Dors, Jimmy Edwards, Larry Grayson, Roy Hudd [75] One of the greatest blights on today's society is the inexplicable overuse of the word "literally", particularly when used for something that's not literal. For some reason it's a word that's found its way into the modern lexicon, with scores of people, especially the young, saying it for no reason whatsoever, multiple times a day. Literally. Here Bradley finds himself doing it, explaining that the winner of the competition "literally" goes on to the Supermatch. As opposed to symbolically or metaphorically going onto it.

Show 7 (5 November 2022) - Motsi Mabuse, Sophie Duker, Saffron Barker, Matt Baker, Jimmy Carr, Bez [254] Show 2 (16 September 1988) - Lynda Baron, Joe Brown, Eddie Edwards, Bonnie Langford, Rose Marie, Greg Rogers [180] Christmas Special (27 December 1989) - Floella Benjamin, Anne Charleston, Linda Lusardi, Danny La Rue, Ian Smith, Peter Woods [201] Yet Bradley's "isn't everything hilarious?" routine attempts to work with the appeal of the show, ironically working against it. Being told you're "having a laugh" for 33 minutes every week is the equivalent of a particularly galling work Christmas Party. A show as fundamentally vacuous as Blankety Blank needs the host to work against it, to not only comedically undermine the whole thing, but also offer something else to offset the vapidity at its core. This version of the show does neither. Show 12 (22 November 1979) - Lennie Bennett, Gemma Craven, David Hamilton, Willie Rushton, Una Stubbs, Barbara Windsor [23]Christmas Special (25 December 2020) - Jimmy Carr, Emilia Fox, Danny Jones, Amir Khan, Sue Perkins, Anita Rani [237] Show 21 (26 February 1988) - Lionel Blair, Debbie Greenwood, Danny La Rue, Aimi Macdonald, Duncan Norvelle, Bertice Reading [178] Show 9 (30 October 1980) - Patti Boulaye, Paul Daniels, David Hamilton, Peter Jones, Libby Morris, Dilys Watling [37] Blankety Blank - BBC One London - 20 December 1985".
