About this deal

The CASIO FX-CG50 replaces the Casio FX-CG20, adding 3D graph capability. Maths and science students can take advantage of the easy-to-operate, high-definition 3D Graph functions and the CG50 has a clearer brighter screen than its predecessor, and it is also speedier in its calculations. The graphing speed isn’t too bad but it’s not snappy either. From my tests I was able to graph a 3D shape in about 6 seconds. Once you get the shape graphed though, you can look at it from different angles no problem. Just use the directional pad and you will change your viewing angle without any hesitation by the calculator. Hardware As a note, I own TI-84 CE Python, Casio Prizm FX-CG50, TI-nspire CX II CAS, and TI-nSpire CX II-T (non-cas). You can also select different series of the elements in the table. For example, you can see all of the Alkali Metals selected in the table below.

From here, they can also install add-ons. If they’re using an old handset, they may not have these add-ons. They’re not essential. But if a student is doing further maths, for example, 3D graphs is really useful, and they should have had that installed. Native Programs: When it comes to native (non-Python) programming on the Casio Prizm FX-CG50, there is so much to be desired. For native calculator programming, it is beaten out horribly by the TI-84. It's not the language that's the huge problem, but rather the way the whole thing is set up. It's just not user-friendly and very, very little has been put into making programming this calculator easy. Unlike Texas Instruments Ti-84, you cannot run programs while the device is plugged into the PC to test it. Below is an image of all the apps in the home screen, just so you can get an idea of all of the apps this calculator includes. display maximum and evolvable ranges of CP and HP both from and to your Pokemon (i.e. reverse and not). Calculator performance is great. There are videos on the web that compare this calculator with a similar model from TI, and this calculator is superior in complex matrix calculations and graphing. You may not use these often, but given that they cost about the same, it's good to buy the better one.If they haven’t got 3.8, it’s important to upgrade because they won’t have the new Distribution app, which makes statistics really easy.

Pokemon + add-in is functional and very Casio OS looking interface to view and calculate evolution of your Pokemon for Casio Prizm/FX-CG calculators. If students don’t put their calculator into exam mode, they should at least reset the handset memory, as this process will delete any data on the handset. So, due to CX-CG50 Python support, which saves it, I prefer, slightly, this calculator over the TI-84. That's because you're likely to get through tests faster with it, even on test mode, without having to use all those convert options that you shouldn't have to do with a calculator of this price tag. Plus, the calculator's python has regular expression support, which is super huge. It's like, what is python without re? The Casio fx-CG50 has a library of 21 apps. This is more than most calculators and each app dives fairly deep into whatever function it performs. We won’t go over all of them but we will talk about some of the most useful/significant ones. I did this as a proof that native development on the Prizm is very easy to do now, even without an abstraction layer like SDL. It also is meant for beginning C for the Prizm programmers to tear apart as a very easy game example, from which they can learn to make their own Add-ins. That being said, I also took my spare time to add in some small video noise effects to make it look cooler, and both an AI and 2 Player mode. Controls are:

The fx-CG50 has a financial calculation app that makes the calculator especially useful for things like home finance. This app has a lot of built in features and it makes doing these types of calculations pretty easy We think that The Casio fx-CG50 is basically a better, nicer, version of the Casio fx-9750GII. There is a pretty big price difference, but you get a nicer build, a color screen and some more advanced features. Features and Capabilities

Check students are comfortable putting their calculators into exam mode

A really convenient feature on the Casio fx-CG50 is the textbook style printing of inputs and answers. What I mean by this is that the calculator will display expressions as they would be written out instead of how they would normally appear on a calculator. That means that fractions look like fractions rather than like this 2/3 and other things like exponents will actually be smaller numbers raised and to the right of their bases. This feature is becoming more and more common which is great because it makes reading and entering expressions much easier. One unique thing about the Casio fx-CG50 is its ability to graph 3D shapes. Most calculators in this price range can’t do that. Graphing 3D shapes isn’t something that you really need to do for most high school math, but later in college or in a non-standard high school math class you might find yourself using this feature.

Now in the area of programming, which makes or breaks modern graphing calculators. For this calculator, since it offers both native programs and micro-python, we will look at both areas of programming, separately: Things like graphing are where calculators with color screens really shine. The fx-CG50 lets you graph up to 20 lines on the same graph

Catalog Function

Source code and additional notes at the github: https://github.com/tswilliamson/prizoop Categorized under: The "Ans" button requires pressing the "shift" key first, if it's not the first entry in the next formula or calculations. This extra step consumes time and is inconvenient. TI-84 is much more flexible and has much better native programming support than the Casio Prizm FX-CG50 -- rather in or off the calculator. As they enter the exam room, the last thing your students need is to realise that their calculator isn’t set up for exam success. There’s also no need to exit exam mode. It will expire after 12 hours, and any functions or settings stored on the handset will be restored once exam mode finishes. Remind students they can’t have any data saved on the handset
