About this deal

Score the round by counting the number of treasures you found, 1 point for each treasure. Keep score on a piece of paper. The leader of the gnomes assembles them at night and dictates tasks for each gnome to carry out. For example, bringing food, tending the lawn, etc. Do garden gnomes come alive at night? Do they speak to one another? There are many questions about garden gnomes that I have wondered myself. I know that they are very mysterious and there is not a lot of information out there about them.

Gnomes also spend the night hours helping the plants and animals around them. Legend tells of them freeing animals from traps and sowing the seeds of wildflowers in the dark hours when humans are asleep.

Gnomes are not visible to most humans, except those who can see them or catch them in the act. They are nocturnal, therefore, rarely seen during the day. To start the game, players flip over the sand timer and the top “treasure card” at the same time. The treasure on the card will be printed on one player’s maze, but not the other’s. The player who can see the treasure must try to collect it by getting his or her gnome to it. They are also considered great storytellers, and due to their long lifespan, they enjoy sharing their long history with the younger gnomes to preserve their legacy and educate their young. They enjoy a variety of fruits, nuts and vegetables and some folklore suggests that honey mead is also part of their festivities. Gnomes Love to Tinker The Scandinavian myths of early gnomes saw a gnome as a ‘tomte’ or ‘ homestead man. Modern gnomes carry the traces of these household entities with gnomes living closely with their human counterparts. Germany currently stands strong as being the largest buyer of decorative garden gnomes as lawn ornaments, with over 25 million sales being made.

Of course, Peaceable Kingdoms targeted Gnomes at Night to a younger age demographic, so this isn’t a huge problem. They’ve done an excellent job here making a game that adults and older children are happy to play, and with a 10 minute play time, no one will feel left out for long. Garden Gnomes – These gnomes can be found as either decorative lawn ornaments or smaller gnomes that hide or camouflage themselves in the garden during the day and come out at night. They tend to the garden.

Move in the Mazes

Most people just see them as lawn ornaments, but they’ve been around for centuries and were actually used as status symbols by the wealthy in 19th-century England. Today, they come in all different sizes and styles, including Star Wars themed ones (BB-8 would look great on a lawn!) and even working solar powered ones. They exchange details of their day, talk about things at their respective houses, discuss issues in the neighborhood, and so forth. Since the other player’s maze remains completely out of view, only good communication skills can get you through the maze and to the treasure. Excited players may find themselves exclaiming “move this way!” or “ go that way!” (with accompanying hand gestures) as they work to figure out a way to get around the walls.

To start the next round, shuffle the treasure cards and the corner start cards and place them in a pile face down. Use the same game board again or switch it out for a different board. But when the Queen goes to choose the items that she wants to bestow, she discovers the box is empty! A thief has stolen her treasures and is running away with them!

The Queen S Treasures

Gnomes are linked strongly to horses in mythology, and farmers could tell if the ‘tomte’ favored a particular horse by its gleaming coat and bountiful health. Tomte also favored farmers who paid them respect and often stole from surrounding farms to enhance the favored farmer’s prosperity.
