Will I Have a Friend? by Miriam Cohen has been around for a while and rightly so. Will I have a friend? is the age-old question of kids starting school for the first time. Journey with a boy as he starts school and meets his first friend. We Don’t Eat Our Classmates Danielle or Dany as she prefers came across a magical sketch book from her great-aunt Elma and she made herself a friend who came real and she also made head of Prince Neptune who turned out to be evil and he was sent to the moon in the last book by Dany and her friends. They call themselves Solar Sisters. Reading lots of these books about making friends for kids, listening to your child’s fears and questions, and a lot of encouragement will help kids get ready to make new friends during the first few weeks of school. Meesha Makes Friends Can Cat and Bird Be Friends? by Coll Muir showcases that it’s not what is on the surface or what is expected that needs to match to be a friend but rather really getting to know someone likes to see where common ground to build a friendship exists. The Word for Friend

Gustavo, the Shy Ghost by Flavia Z. Drago is the story of a shy ghost who struggles with finding the courage to make friends. But, he decides to share his passion with others and in turn, introduces himself to a whole new group of friends. The illustrations are spectacular! How do you go about making friends when nobody seems to want to say 'I love you'? Dimitri is new at nursery and determined to tell everyone (and everything) that he loves them, but it's frustrating when you're the only one saying it. Dimitri's mum explains that people show their love for each other in different ways - like Berthe the dinner lady's smile, or the man in the park who gives the strays cats tuna. Dimitri feels better, and begins to understand that there are as many different ways of saying 'I love you' as there are people in the world. This vibrant, charming story about a little lost penguin and the boy who tries to help him find his way home won a gold medal in the Nestle Children's Book Prize and a Blue Peter Book Award. It's also been turned into an adorable animation! The Boy Who Loved Everyoneby Jane Porter and Maisie Paradise Shearring Ok, so the crazy that was the evil prince is gone so no floating psycho head, but this book just lost any momentum book 1may have started. Again, it jumps around a lot. And there's way too much "oh, you have magic" acceptance for me. No one seems to question that magic is real. Existential crisis in juvenile fiction? The best friend is the ultra special, pink-haired character from anime(s) with actual depth? Magical girl shoujo references!?! Let's go! Dany is struggling with homework and to be popular so she makes a clone of herself. Dany's parents also won a lifetime lotto and her mum got skinny. When Dany breaks a vase by mistake, a dog is release from it and she realizes that it must be a dog jinni and she figures out how her parents won the lottery and how her mum got skinny in such short time. When she confronts her parents, they all realize that they all know about magic and Dany's parents confiscate some of her magical items. Dany's uncle and aunty have also got themselves a good life finally. Later on when Dany tried to mindwipe her parents, her mum realizes that Dany still has access to magic and she confiscates her sketchbook as well.

Sometimes our friends are imaginary. The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat is the story of an imaginary friend looking for his person. It’s a beautiful story about imagination and friendship. Beekle won the 2015 Caldecott Medal. Raybot When I first meet someone new for treatment, I start by saying that discomfort and anxiety are just feelings, like any other feelings. Anxiety, in and of itself, is not “bad”—it can even be very important when it works properly. It can teach us what might not be safe. If I am crossing a busy intersection, I need something that lets me know when I have to act. Discomfort helps us to learn, to decipher what we value, what we want, and what we would like to avoid. Read More I also was not a fan of Dany. I don't need characters to be "likable". Even the use of that word makes me cringe, because I hate the idea that there's a belief out there that readers are supposed to identify and sympathize with all characters when that's simply not the case. However, my problem with Dany is she is the hero of this book and things do end up turning out okay for her, but she never experiences the kind of growth I would have liked to see in a character who ends up being redeemed. She moans and complains a lot about how unfortunate she is and how no one likes her, but never once do we even see her trying to reach out to other kids, and more than once, other kids reach out to her in clearly friendly ways. I found myself very confused about what Dany was complaining about, and I was impatient with her self-centeredness. Had she arrived at a sense of self-awareness by the end of the book, I would have welcomed that, but I never felt she did. The first book in the series was too busy but I still liked it. This was all over the place as well and too many things were happening and I felt that things jumped from here to there without fully evolving. It was a nice plot but the execution felt too messy. I was hoping for some answers that I never got in the first book but rather than getting those answers, I got more questions as not much was explained. Dany lies to her parents so easily and she mindwipes people without thinking about the consequences. She learnt nothing after creating Madison and Prince Neptune and in this she creates a clone of herself. Learn something from your mistakes. Even her parents were so dodgy and they used magic to benefit themselves and I question her mum with the sketchbook. Some other reviewers have pointed out that everyone seems to just accept it when they find out that magic is real, no one questions them and I think the same. Why doesn't anyone question the magic in this and how did Elma have all these possessions? I also think that Dany's uncle and aunty also know about magic as their lives changed as well and her uncle doesn't even yell at anyone anymore. I was also hoping to hear something about Prince Neptune but whatever. I will read the next in the series just to get some answers. Like I said before, I enjoyed the anime-inspired expressions and whatnot. I think the paneling was fine as well.My Views: It is a perfect teacher provided you are a dull student. This is book is about getting well along with people, that is how you can improve your relationship with them, how you can understand their attitude, how you can understand their personality, and how to overcome the problem they face and need someone to help them. If somebody has an attitude for seeking tension or problem, and he feels that everyone ignores him, he will try to attract everyone’s attention. People keep highlighting your weaknesses or problems but don’t get bogged down by this, ignore it, swallow it, digest it and silently improve upon it. Don’t let yourself go into a shell because of this, overcome this weakness or problem. If people are not happy with you, or ignore you, seek answers from them why they do it, what is the reason, what do I do that I don’t get ignored. People have a tendency to react sharply if your weakness is highlighted, like if somebody says your body has a bad odor, people, friends around you will start ignoring you, even if they are not getting bad smell at all. More happens on preception and listening than actual experience. School for Dany is crazy. She had sixth grade figured out but now seventh grade is going to give her a run for her money. Dany inherits a magical notebook from her aunt that passed away. In that notebook the things she draws comes to life, so when she draws her dream best friend and favorite anime character stuff gets real. This is Dany’s story of surviving middle school, friend drama, and finding herself. Don’t wait for other to come and highlight your weaknesses, or improve you, change yourself, who knows you better than YOU. Dany is pretty normal. Usually, in these type of stories, the main character is whiny, annoying, or special-snowflakey. Dany might be a touch of that, but she's still likable to me.

I'm not sure how to classify this novel. I read a fair amount of middle grade graphic novels, many of which have lots of fantastical elements, but I've never read one quite like this. While it has an interesting premise--a lonely, middle school girl finds a magic notebook that makes her drawings literally come to life--the execution left something to be desired. Since I can't otherwise elaborate what my problems with the book were, I'll have to give away plot elements, so read further at your own risk. Now that she’s in seventh grade, she’s in a new middle school, her friends are in different classes and forming new cliques, and she is totally, completely lost.About Author: Andrew Matthew is based in Adelaide in South Australia. I honestly enjoyed the entire cast of characters, relatability, and artwork. Yes, to that cute, expressive artwork. The light humor is great too, not cringy just right.
