About this deal

A deluxe companion guide to the #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. Everything you need to know about the peculiar world, written by Miss Peregrine herself. The pulse-pounding continues . . . lost friends are found, boundaries tested, and more surprising history is revealed.”–Booklist Breaking out a fresh flurry of atmospheric and oddball antique photographs as illustrations, Riggs opens with generous galleries of peculiars arranged by type, from earthworkers to invisibles and deadrisers. Not to mention real historical peculiars such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Mary Seacole. He goes on to discuss time loops (with a handy guide to finding their hidden entrances), ploys and disguises for passing as normal in the outside world, the origins of deadly wights and hollowgast, and, in a final omnium-gatherum section, the peculiar world’s language, party games, and foundational texts. The photos, most of which are portraits, are likely to be the most immediate draw, as even the ones that don’t feature creepy figures with rubbed out eyes or fall under the general theme of fun with skeletons have a decidedly otherworldly air. The staring subjects include racial and cultural diversity. This guidebook isn’t the best one that I’ve ever read, but it definitely isn’t the worst. Some sections felt like I was forcing myself to read it for school while other sections were so enjoyable that I wish they would’ve been longer. It somewhat feels like this book was written as a way for Ransom Riggs to have people see more of his antique photographs that he’s collected, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since I know a lot of people fell in love with the Miss Peregrine’s series because of the antique photos.

Thank you to Penguin Young Readers Group & Dutton Books for Young Readers l for the arc through netgalley in exchange for an honest review! I have been an immense fan of the Miss Peregrine’s series for many years now. The books have always served as an escape when I was struggling. Riggs’s ability to put the reader in the story, the brilliant plot, and the writing, as well as the incorporation of genuine old photographs, has made this my favorite series. I was incredibly excited when this book was announced, and I am so grateful that I can review it! Also, yes, I know I volunteer on MuggleNet (obviously), which is for Harry Potter (obviously x2), but that doesn’t change the fact that this is my favorite series! I read the first three books in Miss Peregrine's a long time ago and was absolutely in love with them, but the second trilogy didn't feel the same for me. However, the add-on books (peculiar Tales and this book) that have come out in recent years have been pretty fun. I always love when a series releases a sort of guide to the world and some parts of it, so this was perfect for me.

The anxiety of enjoying a song while worrying that the other people listening are not enjoying it as much as you are) Summary: A deluxe companion guide to the #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. Everything you need to know about the peculiar world, written by Miss Peregrine herself. I love a good guidebook as much as anyone who’s as obsessed with world building as I am, and this one was really fun! I’d only recommend for diehard fans of the Peculiar Children series, and probably wouldn’t have gone out of my way to read it myself if I hadn’t happened upon it at the library while grabbing the other books. But I loved reading the lore and information about the world simply because I love world building, and the structure of this one made it especially entertaining. The addition of Miss Peregrine’s comments and notes to Jacob made it tie in with the series in a fun way, so I’m glad I read it immediately after finishing the series. Gloriously rich and utterly delightful, Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders is an indispensableguide to the peculiar world, perfect for longtime fans and new readers alike. Covering everything from how to blend in with suspicious normals to the most popular time loops to visit as a temporal tourist, this essential volume is ideal for anyone curious about the world of Miss Peregrine: its strange history, curious practices, fascinating places, most famous (and infamous) names, and much more.A deluxe companion to the #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. Everything you need to know about the peculiar world, written by Miss Peregrine herself. A gloriously rich and utterly delightful handbook perfect for longtime fans and new readers alike. Ransom Riggs’s newest installment to the Miss Peregrine’s universe is stunning. Miss Peregrine’s Museum of Wonders is a magnificent addition to the vibrant, peculiar world, a.k.a. Peculiardom, that Riggs has created. Through chapters written by the (co-)Headbird herself, Miss Peregrine, we are captivated by a guidebook on peculiar abilities, peculiar animals, peculiar plants, peculiar loops, surviving as a Peculiar, and more. This incredibly immersive book, coupled with inserts from other Peculiars we’ve come to love and annotations from Miss Peregrine to Jacob, beautifully adds to the chaotic world we’ve grown to adore since 2011. There was a time when all we had to worry about was being burned at the stake. It was a simpler world then. While I did learn some new things in this book, like how they classify peculiars and the history of some of the peculiar events, this was mostly repeated information. I didn't really mind this because it was nice to review some of the history and what has happened. I really liked learning about some important peculiar people and places. It was also fun to read some of the little footnotes. muzej čuda gospođice peregrine : nezaobilazan vodič kroz opasnosti i divote svijeta čudnovatih s uputama za nove članove, ransom riggs; s engleskoga prevela ana josić
