It's an argument that's been around since 1936, when the first Quality Street box was launched. A box that was named after a play by JM Barrie, the author of Peter Pan. As for the brands that’ve been lost, there have been a surprising number given the selection has only been in existence for just over 20 years. It’s worth noting that many of these experienced minor alterations while others were dropped altogether. The Green Triangle" (previously known as Noisette Triangle) – milk chocolate filled with hazelnut praline (green wrapper, foil) It's come around again: the most wonderful time of the year... to argue with your family over who gets what chocolate from the Quality Street box.

Like Heroes, they comprises miniature versions of the chocolate brands owned by the manufacturer - Mars. So, whether you're a Celebrations, Miniature Heroes, Roses or Quality Street fan, you're sure to get into a few tiffs this Christmas over your favourite sweet. The Purple One is the most famous sweet from the Quality Street® family. Our iconic sweets were born in when 1936 John Macintosh, the owner of a successful confectionery business in Norwich, sold a deliciously chewy new toffee invented by his wife. When his son inherited the business, he soon created a range of sweets in beautiful wrappers that everyone could enjoy – and Quality Street® was born.Gooseberry Cream (green wrapper, light green fondant with a touch of Gooseberry Preserve covered in milk chocolate) For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. Almond Octagon (purple wrapper, replaced with Vanilla Octagon, but the latter is now discontinued as well)

Gooseberry Cream (green wrapper light green fondant with a touch of Gooseberry Preserve covered in milk chocolate)Heroes, of course, have been around for nowhere near as long as Cadbury's other selection though they now feel like they have been available for a long, long time. Toffee Deluxe (replaced by Honeycomb Crunch, reintroduced and then replaced by Chocolate Caramel Brownie) Again, like Quality Street, because of the blank canvas available to Cadbury when it came to making the flavours, coupled with it being in supply for almost a century, there have been plenty to fall by the wayside: The sweets within the box have changed and evolved over the years. As of September 2019, there are 15 flavours (including the Fruit Cremes box exclusive, John Lewis exclusive, and Matchmakers) of the individually wrapped sweets, all of which are either chocolate or toffee based, as follows: Intrigue Truffles sold separately as Praline, Salted Caramel and Orange (Salted Caramel and Praline are sold at both Asda and Morrison's stores, whereas Orange is sold at Asda only)
