About this deal

Another good book is "The Life of the Prophet Mohammad (ﷺ)" by Martin Lings (24 January 1909 – 12 May 2005). It is the most eloquent book of Seerah in English. He was a professor at Oxford and an authority on the work of William Shakespeare. He is a convert to Islam and was also known as Abu Bakr Siraj ad-Din. He lived a very quiet life. His book cannot be compared to any other book because he is a master of the English language.

Many books have been written about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). In writing this book, the author had a specific objective. He used the life of the Prophet (SAW) to go onto depth about the Prophet (SAW) many historians only touched on the various aspects of his life. This book goes into detail and provides reasons and explanations for whatever took place. It is a blend of modern analysis and ancient detail. Its objective is to nurture faith, purify characters and fan the struggle to embrace the truth and be faithful to it. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT👌🏽 IF USED TOGETHER WITH THE ORIGINAL YOUTUBE SERIES. IT JUST BRINGS THE SIRAH TO LIFE❤️.Retain critical details with the help of 90+ original figures (maps, family trees, and infographics) that simplify complex material and boost retention. I’M READING FROM THE BOOK 📖 & THAN LISTENING TO ITS YOUTUBE EQUIVALENT TOGETHER. SO ABSOLUTELY LOVING 🥰 THE DOUBLE JOY.

Here are a couple of examples to show how important knowing the Seerah is and how can it impact the way we think and interpret the things around us. The Third volume explains the modern theories of interest and presents the Islamic Theory of Zero Rate of interest. This meant that this Seerah book was more than a Seerah book and really felt like the Prophet was here and relevant to us. It really reconnects the heart to the Prophet (SAW)

Another source of Seerah is the books written about the miracles of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Finally, people wrote books on the histories of the cities of Makkah and Medina, called Tariq Makka and Tariq Medina. So by reading the Tariqs of Makkah and Medina, we can also extract Seerah. When we read Ibn Hisham, we read something written around 100 years after the Prophet passed away, before any book of Hadith was written (Imam Bukhari died in 256 AH, and Imam Muslim died 261AH). So the material on Seerah we have was written within 100 years after the death of the Prophet (ﷺ) since we have the majority of Ibn Ishaq's works preserved through Ibn Hisham. Jangda, Abdul Nasir, host. “Intro – Pt 2.” Seerah, episode 2, Qalam Institute, 20 May 2016, https://www.qalaminstitute.org/2011/09/seerah-life-of-the-prophet-intro-pt-2/ I also feel like the footnotes were done very well and succinctly in explaining issues such as age of Ayesha, slavery and plagues (and its link to Covid).
