The Portrait 3 is a great choice if you are looking for a more compact crafting tool at a great price that still has lots of features. Let’s talk about just a few of my favorite things about the Portrait 3, shall we? A couple of my favorite Portrait 3 features: Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. Basically, while the Portrait 3 cuts, it will occasionally lift the blade leaving tiny portions of the design uncut so the piece remains connected to the sheet of material. Whether you wish to take it to events or set it up for a party, you can create custom designs easily even in small workspaces. The Maker 3 is great for embossing/debossing and engraving too, as it as a bespoke blades for the job. At present Silhouette has released similar blades for Cameo 4. The Silhouette Portrait 3 has some limitations, but it’s a portable, versatile tool for crafters and card makers, especially if you’re personalising products.

The Portrait 3 can cut design up to 8 inches in width and can perform matless cutting. It also can cut designs up to 60 feet long! It is perfectly sized to cut any letter (8.5″x11″) or A4 materials. You can also use your own favorite third party pens with the Cameo 4 Pen Holder. Pop-Out Cut: A New Matless Cutting Mode! So, which is best in the Cricut vs Silhouette software head-to-head? Maker 3 will cost more if you want to make the most of it, but generally Cricut machines are more user-friendly and a lot easier for beginners to get started with. Cameo 4 and Silhouette machines enable you to go deeper into the design process and hardware, so maybe one for pros. Silhouette is angular, aggressive and sharp. The rear-mounted touch-screen on the cameo 4 is a nice touch, but Cricut's close app-integration ensures such a thing is not needed.

In our Cricut Maker 3 review we found this to be one of the best cutting machines we've used to date, and easily a step up from past Cricuts. Yet, Design Space is easy to use and like Maker 3 and Cricut design in general, incredibly user-friendly. The Silhouette Portrait 3 is a powerful, lightweight, compact and portable digital cutting tool that is perfect for both on-the-go creators as well as users who have smaller work spaces.”The Portrait 3 can cut a variety of different materials. While Silhouette doesn’t necessarily advertise how many different materials their machines can cut, the way Cricut does, but it can cut many of your typical materials.
