We’d argue, in fact, that if you spend Squier money on a guitar made in the US, it wouldn’t be that great - as the cost of labour and manufacturing would bump up the price of a cheap guitar considerably.

These guitars are seriously cool, and as Squier likes to change around their models every couple of years, they could also become pretty rare. While production began in Japan, Squier guitars are now manufactured in China and Indonesia - as opposed to Fender guitars hailing from Mexico, Japan and the US. This enables Fender to produce Squier guitars at a much lower cost - and therefore, sell them to you at a lower retail price. As a budget guitar, the Squier Bullet Mustang must be thought of as such. The tone is good, especially great in the bridge position, but it’s not the Mustang. With some easily done modifications, the Bullet will certainly have more girth and strength, along with everything so great about its comfort and playability. Squier represents the inexpensive and more accessible side of the Fender brand. Producing officially-licensed Fender designs, Squier guitars are made to the exact same measurements as their parent company’s models. And ultimately, Squier instruments offer that genuine Fender feel and tone for just a fraction of the price. Squier Bullet Series MustangsI have no hesitation with recommending this guitar to anyone who wants to start their musical journey. If you’ve been playing for a while, you’re going to like it too – but remember that it’s a budget guitar. It was loved by alternative bands and players - including Kurt Cobain - in the 90s for its short scale, affordability and potential for modding. This is 2017, though: things have changed.
