Sudio Ett overtook Sudio Fem as the most expensive earbuds but with good reasons: Active Noise Cancellation and Wireless Charging Case. Like its predecessors, such as the Sudio Fem, Sudio Tolv and Sudio Niva, the new Sudio Ett are bluetooth wireless earbuds. The main difference of the Sudio Ett is that is it the brand’s first wireless earbuds that comes with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) feature. ANC works by using the microphone on the earbuds to detect the environment noise, and then neutralizes it before it reaches the ear. This is achieved by the generating sound that is phase-inverted by 180 degrees to the unwanted noise, resulting in the two sounds cancelling each other out. Ett features three audio features, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency mode and Normal (Off) mode. The audio quality is alright, with balanced sounds and clear vocals. The bass is slightly weak, so I still like the audio quality from my Sony WF-1000XM3 as it has strong bass. It is a personal preference, so your mileage may vary (YMMV).
As I mentioned, the earbuds are quite light, which makes them comfortable to wear for long periods. The earbuds also come with a wide selection of different ear tips so you can get the best fit, resulting in better sound quality and comfort. Charging Case The charging case will provide about five charges to your earbuds, providing 30 hours of total playtime without ANC and 20 hours of playtime with ANC. IPX-5 doesn’t rate them for submersion, you don’t want to swim with them but for me, it gives a degree of peace of mind that they can withstand my everyday life and the environments I use them in a likely to subject them to. Having Bluetooth 5.0, the connection was really stableand I barely experienced any audio dropouts. And if you want to use just one earbud, you can use either side of the earbuds. Sound qualityThere’s also an LED indicator on the outer side, which will let you know the status of the earbuds, as well as a couple of microphones. The underside of the earbuds has Sudio’s branding as well as a letter to let you know which ear the earbud should be in.
Unlike the Sony WF-1000XM3, there is no app to control the ANC of the Sudio Ett. So it is either ANC on or ANC off. You can’t control the level of ANC.
Spare parts
The ANC is a great add-on for consumers who are on regular commute on public transport or airplanes. They are not as effective as the powerhouse brands like Bose and Sony but there is no uncomfortable ear pressure effect. The low humming sounds are removed yet the upper frequency still remains, which are often the limitations of such technology. Turning on ANC will increase the volume slightly but the overall sound balance is identical. The USB-C charging port is on the side of the charging case. So your charging case can remain upright when being charged. Sudio Ett – Left – Charging Port Sudio Ett – Green – Charging The Ett has a different sound compared to the Fem. This is mainly due to better bass response on the Fem, which can offer you more sub-bass reverbs and rumble. Midrange is also more forward sounding on the Fem. As for treble, Fem takes the win again as its treble sizzles with more clarity and shine over the Ett, Sudio has finally jumped on the active noise cancelling (ANC) wireless earbuds bandwagon with the launch of Sudio Ett.
For Android devices, you are able to see the battery icon on the screen, there is also a variety of third-party Android app for reading battery levels on connected devices. If Sudio Ett is not charging properly You can also use the button controls to power the earbuds off. Do this by holding the button for 7 seconds on either earbud. If you would like to use only one of the earbuds, you can do so by just taking out the one you want to use from the charging case. Based on my previous experience (albeit a brief one) with Sudio Fem, Sudio seems to lean towards being more treble focused than bass focused. The charging case can bring a total of 4 additional charges to give you 30 hours of listening or 20 hours with active noise cancelling, so you will be able to listen throughout the day without any worries of running out of power. Author’s Blurb: I used to be anti-wireless earbuds for the longest time and only just found joy in using them a few months ago. Every bias I had was challenged, so going into this review of another pair of wireless earbuds, I was a lot more open minded. The Ett earbuds provide up to 6 hours of listening time per charge, if you want to use active noise cancellation it reduces to 4 hours per charge, but of course this can vary depending on your listening volume. Within the box, there are 7 pairs of earbuds for you to ensure that you have the perfect fit to the Sudio Ett. Do make sure that you choose the right earbuds with the right fit, as it will affect sound quality and comfort. The earbuds come in a range of different colours with a matte finish, which helps to hide any scratches that may occur by using the earbuds over time. The earbuds have a plastic construction, which makes them lightweight and less strenuous to wear, the plastic feels soft to the touch and the build quality feels good. The earbuds have a matte finish The case itself is decently compact and designed to make it much easier to open one handed compared to the Sudio Fem’s.
