About this deal

The Super Challenges don’t appear to be part of the game but just as additional challenges. Maybe they could be utilised if you end up with a tie-breaker! Developmental Benefits of The #UpsideDown Challenge Game Action cards - indicated by numbers 1 - 15. Each action card is explained in the accompanying booklet. If the player completes the challenge they get a point (or chip). Fans of the original Scotland Yard will notice a few small differences here and there - not just in terms of character names but also the number of rounds you get is reduced making for shorter game play and less time to prevaricate. This is a palette cleanser game. If you join regular game nights this is basically what you play at the beginning while waiting for a takeaway to arrive or at the end when people aren’t quite ready to leave but aren’t ready to sit for another hour.

A couple of minor quibbles are that it would benefit with a licence for Disney films - although it was nice to see Despicable Me pop up - and while the suggested age is 13 we were considering playing this tweens slightly younger until a random (and slightly wince-inducing) clip from Candyman popped up for one of the questions. Verdict: In the same way that Funko took on collectible figures to give people memorabilia for oft-overlooked things they loved in Pop form, they now seem to be doing the same with their Funko Games imprint and I am absolutely here for it.At first glance, the Upside Down Challenge Game may seem like a very simple concept. All you need to do is draw a picture, or complete an easy task. Pretty straight forward, right?

We love family games here at A Rose Tinted World and we are always looking for great games for 6 year olds. So we were delighted to be offered the chance to play this game and tell you all about it. What is the Upside Down Challenge Game All About? Working out at around 20 minutes per player, once we’d played it a few times we were able to complete the game in around an hour which also made it a good option for an in-depth game that wasn’t too long for younger players’ attention spans. But once it was working this was a blast all round. The questions were a good mixture of movie trivia, observation and film knowledge and there were a wide range of films chosen from The Goonies and Fast Times at Ridgemont High to the latest Jurassic World film. In the box you get a pair of upside down glasses, 32 cards (2 of which are super challenges), 1 symbol explanation card, an action cards explanation booklet, a 20 second sand timer, 32 cardboard blue chips, 4 yellow cardboard chips as well as the punch board they come in. To play the game though you will also need to gather a number of items from around your house including: 3 cardboard tubes (eg the middle of toilet rolls), a pen with a lid, plenty of paper, a teaspoon, 2 beakers/ cups, a bowl and some water. The premise: Move over Syabira, there's a new star baker in town, courtesy of this fun and easy-to-learn card game. The competition is open to entrants over 18 yrs from the UK only. The winner will be chosen at random after the competition closes – but see the full t&cs below. Terms and Conditions of Giveaway The principle of the game is really quirky. Take your turn to complete a challenge indicated on a card wearing the pair of glasses included in the box. What is its particularity? It makes you see the world upside down, as if you were upside down. Imagine drawing a sheep or filling a glass with water. All sounds easy, but it's not so simple when all your benchmarks are upset. Lots of fun is guaranteed! Who is this Game for? The aim of the game is to collect five tokens; then you’re the winner! (You can change the number of tokens to make the game shorter or longer). In the upside down challenge game, players take turns to wear the upside down goggles whilst taking their turn. And even simple tasks may seem impossible when the world is on its head! What’s In The Game Box? We especially loved: Because it’s divided into chapters it can be played over a few nights. We took it on a weekend away and played two chapters a night and it added a real sense of occasion to the game as well as making it feel more manageable for everyone.
