This Series can be read as a standalone, however the plot is left at a slight cliffhanger. This couple does have a HEA. La historia empezó bien, tenía suspenso, drama y algunos giros que me mantuvieron leyendo. El protagonista quería vengar a su hermana y acabar con las cabezas que dirigían el tráfico de mujeres y quiénes le hicieron daño, después estaba la protagonista que de pronto se mete en el peligroso y violento mundo del crimen organizado cuando su mejor amiga desaparece y sospecha que su jefe tiene que ver con su desaparición. Así que me sonaba emocionante y quería ver cómo todo esto se iba a desarrollar.

Two incredibly flawed and broken characters in a world that is evil and dark. There should be no way to get past what happened but Ria fights for their happy ending and I was holding on tight the whole way for them to get there. I’m so glad that I experienced this book in audio. Zara and Joe did a fantastic job at bringing these two characters to life.

I can't say why this is a 4 star story instead of 5 star without a spoiler but let's just say - I don't love what Isobel and Hunter do to Kingston in the end. The synopsis is that Mia works in a bar and one night a guy tries it on with her so she walks up to a hot guy - Colt - who has just walked in and she asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend to scare off the other chap. One hot kiss later and the other guy is gone. Mia and Colt part ways until she sees him beating someone up. There follows an incident which sees Mia's boss in trouble with a nasty MC President, Dev , and subsequently Mia ends up running away. She flees and the person who ends up keeping her safe is the President of the Blue Angels MC, Colt. I was the daughter of an MC president. I was related to the O'Banions as well as the Capones. My bloodlines did not lie and I was born for this life. After returning to London after helping the Silver's in America, they may have chased the Syndicate out of their city but Kingston wants to do more than that, he plans to shut them down from the top. After what they did to Isabelle nothing less than the end of them will satisfy them. With the information the Silver's shared with him he can finally put his plan into action.

Mr. Arden as Hunter is absolutely spectacular. If I hadn't gotten hooked by the prologue, the growl in chapter four definitely sealed my fate. This is one of my favorite performances by him this year. His ability to make his voice fit with the character, keep pace, and deliver the emotional impact of what Hunter is, left me wanting more. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention how well he played the side characters, because it was phenomenal. Let's start with my girl Isobel. She is one strong, powerful woman. She went through stuff that not many may come out strong from but she pushed all her anger, resentment, and sadness, into getting her revenge. And revenge she got. She turned herself into a rising phoenix and became the one they all feared when coming face to face with. Isobel is my queen. The fire she holds inside her is one so powerful she can burn them all. I loved her. How she held herself even though her fears would make her overthink, she overcame them with the help of the one person she loves the most. She was a bad bitch, one I strive to be. I loved him once upon a time, I fear I still do, but we had been doomed from the start, lies and treachery woven into the fabric of our very beings.

I am so undecided as to how I feel about this book which is really unusual for me, I usually have an opinion about pretty much everything. I won’t be posting TW/CW, I feel like this is something you need to go into blind. If you’ve read Twisted City Duet then you have an idea of it but LORD, it’s SPICER, SMUTTY, AND THE EVENTS taken place is to DIE FOR. I am biased though bc Ria is my MAIN 🥰😍🥺 I do wish she was more confident she was too weak from in my opinion. The sex scenes were out of this world amazing!! Usually in books I get tired of them cause it just gets boring sometimes but with king and Eleanor it never did 🤭 even tho it was a fantasy of hers I was NOT expecting ace to be in that room lol the chapter wow it had me wanting a cold shower 🥵I could listen to James read the dictionary and it would sound sexy. He made an excellent Kingston, and I loved having him in my earbuds for a day. I’ve listened to several books with Zara narrating recently so it was a little difficult to separate out those characters from this one, and I thought her voice sounded a little young for the way I pictured Ellena, but it did help play up the innocent aspect of her character’s personality.
