If you are persistently getting diarrhoea, bloating, stomach pain or skin rashes, you should see your GP. They can help to rule out other health problems that have similar symptoms and may take blood tests.

A food allergy can cause different symptoms in different parts of the body at the same time. These include: Oral LD50 (rat): 365 mg/kg; Intraperitoneal LDLO (mouse): 138 mg/kg; Oral TDLO (rat): 50 mg/kg; Oral TDLO (mouse): 0.1 mg/kg . Chlorpheniramine is very similar to dexchlorpheniramine. Do not use medications containing dexchlorpheniramine while using chlorpheniramine. If you are taking the extended-release capsules, swallow them whole. Do not crush or chew extended-release capsules or tablets. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. You should seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist about taking this medicine. They can help you balance the risks and the benefits of this medicine during pregnancy. Reporting side effects If you are taking other medicines containing antihistamines, including products for the relief of colds and coughs. Special care should be taken when using chlorpheniramine maleate in children and the elderly as they are more likely to experience the neurological anticholinergic effects and paradoxical excitation (e.g. Increased energy, restlessness, nervousness). Avoid use in elderly patients with confusion.

Elimination Route

This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy or blur your vision. Alcohol or marijuana ( cannabis) can make you more dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness or clear vision until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis). Children may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug. This drug can often cause excitement in young children instead of drowsiness. If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines including herbal medicines and those that you may have bought yourself. Chlorphenamine can interfere with the action of some other drugs and some drugs can have an effect on chlorphenamine. The drugs which can cause some problems when taken together with chlorphenamine are: The best way to do this is to keep a food diary. Make a note of everything you eat during the day and what, if any, symptoms you experience. Also note when these symptoms occur. Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, constipation, or trouble urinating. Drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion can increase the risk of falling.
