Some chairs take a while to set up. It is usually the foldable chairs that can be more complicated. The seat pad and ground chair are usually the easiest to set up. So if you are thinking about stopping to rest a lot, the foldable chair might not be your best choice. Comfort This chair is right in the middle of the price range of tent-style chairs we tested. We like the Skyline because we find its combination of comfort, weight, and stability unmatched for such a reasonable price. If you're looking to make an investment in a quality piece of gear that you'll find countless uses for, this is an excellent choice and holds high value. Conclusion The Crazy Creek is also a breeze to set up but takes a second to adjust. You’ll want to open up these folding seats and sit inside of them while adjusting their side straps for the most comfortable fit and to find your preferred angle.
The Nemo Moonlite is probably the most stable, with the Big Agnes Skyline UL and the partially reviewed Helinox Chair One coming in second. The Helinox Chair Zero comes in third, although it needs to be on a relatively flat surface to be stable. The Alite Monarch and REI Flexlite kind of tie for last place. The Monarch actually feels more stable once you are seated in it, and the REI wobbles all the time. Durability The inspiration behind the brand was simple. Our comparably heavy friend TJ, as mentioned, also put many evenings on his Chair Zero with no issues before he upgraded to the Moonlite—strictly for comfort. That’s pretty great, considering it’s one of the lightest options.

The company’s chair game is no different. The Mica Basin and Skyline UL are made with what Big Agnes calls “aircraft aluminum pole systems,” and the proprietary high-tenacity Robic nylon with polyester ripstop ensures durability. The second easiest to set up is the Hillsound Equipment BTR Stool. Simply extend and twist the legs open, and the stool is ready to use. I love this chair for camping trips. It is the best lightweight camping chair, especially where you want a proper chair to relax in at the end of the day but are tight on space and extra weight.
Otherwise, the REI Flexlite just feels like it’s going to break, with much more play in base and fabric seams that appear to be stressed. That said, it’s still going strong with a fair amount of use. It was also the least forward-tipping chair of the bunch, which puts less strain on your core muscles when getting to standing position. The downside to the Klymit Ridgeline Short is that it was the most difficult to assemble out of the box. It took multiple people to stretch the fabric body over the aluminum frame. At one point, we wondered if we were going to break the frame just getting the polyester body on. Fortunately, we didn’t, and subsequent assembly of the chair was notably easier. That being said, it’s clear that the fabric of Klymit Ridgeline Short is stretchier than others in my test, which may be an issue if you are at the upper end of the 265-pound weight limit of the chair.Big Agnes' Skyline UL Stool is an ideal piece of kit for carrying on day walks, having around camp or even just having in the car for traveling with. Giving them plenty of time to adapt and design a range of gear that’s sure to make even hotel lovers book a camping trip. The NEMO Moonlite is also made with 100% polyester Bluesign-approved mesh throughout its body, versus the typical nylon or polyester fabric of most other camp chairs. This allows the seat to breathe well and mold to your body. It can also support up to 300 pounds — impressive stats for a small camp chair. One thing to pay attention to is the height of the chair off the ground if you do not want to be too low to the ground.
