About this deal

There are four outputs, two quarter inch high impedence TS and two XLR. These are quite versatile and you can set the quarter inch outputs and the XLR outputs separately. You can do things like run a stereo mix with reverb to a stereo guitar amp and feed a PA system separate guitar and vocals without reverb through the two XLR outputs for instance. Juga termasuk efek vocal doubling, ditambah pemrosesan yang lebih dramatis seperti suara elektronik, distorsi, dan efek suara radio yang sulit disetel. The vocals have a limited set of Harmonies. 9 total. For my needs there are only 3. And I can't use Doubling with Harmony. I have songs where I want Doubling on the whole song then add HIGH/HIGHER during the Chorus. Can't do it.

The Boss VE-8 is a compact and all-in-one preamp and effects stompbox for performers who sing and play with an acoustic or electro-acoustic guitar at the same time.NOTCH FILTER, PHASE Phrase Loop 80 sec Display 7 segments, 2 digits LED Connectors MIC IN connector: XLR type, balanced, phantom power (DC 48 V, 10 mA Max)

With the VE-8’s grab-and-go panel controls, it’s simple to dial in sounds and settings as you play. After creating a setup you like for a particular song, just save it in one of 50 memory locations for instant recall while performing. The VE-8’s three built-in footswitches control a variety of live functions, and one or more optional footswitches can be connected for further control if needed. Specifications Nominal Input Level MIC IN: -40 dBu (MIC SENS = Center)The chorus switch can also mute the guitar and engage the tuner if you press and hold. The second switch turns vocal harmonies on and off, but it can also bypass all vocal effects if you press and hold. Presets Vocal Enhance : this particular effect allows you to punch your voice to the top of the mix. It raises the presence and makes it crispy, clean, and important. Moving on to the controls, let me inform you beforehand that VE-8 Acoustic Singer can operate in two different modes. The first one is Manual mode in which you just play and tweak the knobs accordingly. The second one is a Memory mode in which you can utilize already recorded pieces or save the new ones. To make sure you don’t get tangled in the abundance of controls, let me explain the majority of them below and get you prepared for the tweaking process.

The effects are very nice and the harmony is dead-on-the-money correct. Lots and lots of harmony options. Great technology and well worth a little complication to my life. There’s a hidden feature within the pedal that delivers a 3-band EQ for both the guitar and the voice channel. Compatible with Apple Mac series (Intel-based). Compatible with Apple Silicon Mac (using the M1 chip).

I found the three pedals really varied here. If you’re looking for a pedal of this sort primarily for the harmonies, I highly recommend listening to tons of samples of these pedals in a style similar to what you’re going for. Some offer really punchy, bright harmonies. Others are a bit more subdued. Try to listen for what’s best for your style.

The I/O section is fairly simple. The guitar channel has the standard XLR input for instruments. Then, the voice channel has the standard stage mic input with Phantom Power available. Both channels feature a stereo mode. You can't trigger both vocal effects and guitar effects together. This could be very useful in a chorus for example where you need a sudden change both in the guitar and vocal sound. The winner of this section really comes down to preferences. For me, it’s absolutely the Play Acoustic. It’s built very well and it’s also perfect for people who play live. I’ll dig into interface specifics below, but the light-up buttons make it very easy to see in dark environments. If you need to tweak anything, there’s no need to worry at all. In terms of inputs and outputs, it doesn’t offer a line out. For some people that will be a problem, for others it won’t. The foot switches on the Play Acoustic are also pretty nice. They seem to be the same as other TC-Helicon products. Pretty straightforward and responsive. Guitar and vocal are separate channels though so you can run your vocal (with loop) through a PA and your guitar (with loop) through an acoustic amp. 4) Flexible routing through four outputs (two 1/4 inch, two XLR). so does one button allow you to start the looping process and then pushing it again chooses the endpoint but keeps the loop playing and then the second button stops the loop (and perhaps erases it if you hold it down)

Additionally, the Boss VE-8 includes a USB port, which allows you to hook the stompbox into a computer and use it as an audio interface . Now the not so good. The reverb for both Guitar and Vocals are weak. I use a touch of reverb on both, but there are several songs where I need to increase the Reverb for effect. But I can't. The VE-8's max Reverb is not much higher than my base reverb. As a Boss pedal, it has custom Boss sound processing circuitry with intuitive controls. The result has studio-quality, ready for the studio and the stage. The BOSS VE-8's built-in looper lets you experiment with rhythms, melodies, leads, and chord shapes in practice. Then take those ideas to the stage and impress your audience. You can drum or beatbox a rhythm and play chords over it, or hammer out a chord structure and play leads and sing over it. The BOSS VE-8 brings exciting band accompaniment to the solo stage. Simple layout with USB recording and aux input As a singer, I'd like the vocal part to be more developed and have more tweaking options. I'd like to have more options for the harmonies especially, like gender, response time (for example, the double effect can't be made tighter). There's only certain fixed harmonies you can use and you can't even mix the double effect with another harmony. I mean, you can't get too creative with the vocal effects.
