About this deal

Our Calligraphy Lessons PDF also contains helpful hints and advice to help KS2 learners create beautiful handwriting.

Practice makes perfect” is a popular saying. What is something you like to practice so you can become better at it? A sport? A musical instrument? A special skill? Do you like to practice?Imagine you get a magic sweater for your birthday. What happens when you wear the sweater? What do you do with these new found magical powers? Do you hear what I hear? Set a timer for 5 minutes and write about all of the sounds you hear in those 5 minutes.

These printable worksheets help you master the basics of calligraphy. You'll find practice materials for modern calligraphy such as brush lettering as well as pointed pen and pencil calligraphy. Have you ever volunteered to help a charity? If so, write about the experience! If not, what are some charities you think you might like to volunteer for?

Have you ever had to stand in line to wait a long time for something? What did you do while you waited? How did you feel while waiting? How did you feel once the wait was over? We often provide young learners with structures to follow to help them to understand organisation. Unfortunately, once this crutch is put into place, students seldom abandon it. The training wheels we provide our students (with the best intentions) can at times become their undoing. It becomes easy and convenient, and we need to make sure they learn to trust themselves. Every year over 8 billion plastic bottles and cans are thrown away. What are some things you can do to help encourage your family and friends to recycle?

Teaching writing skills is a key focus that enables our students to communicate effectively and therefore, transform their thoughts and ideas into comprehensible and legible written responses. What's more, it makes the wider curriculum even more accessible, when our children have the ability to communicate in a range of genres and styles.

The first and most important thing is to recognise that this is not a process of chipping aways and being awarded a level. It depends on the quality of your answer. You could essentially write 10 paragraphs for Question 2 on Language Paper 1 (English GCSE) and get one mark, or write 10 paragraphs and get 8 marks. Doing more of the same skill won't get you a higher mark. Wriiting two comments about two quotations may get you 2 marks, and equally writing 17 paragraphs about 17 different quotes could also get you 2 marks.

When beginning calligraphy, students will need to use two pencils attached together with elastic bands. Using pencils is the best way to get an idea of form and movement. Imagine you are sitting at home one day and you hear someone shrieking in the living room they see a mouse in the house! Write a story about what might happen next.Write a story about Gretchen the Grouch, a girl who is always angry! Will she ever be happy? Why is she so grumpy all of the time? You are given the challenge to drop an egg on the floor – without it breaking! What are some things you might try to make sure the egg won’t break?
