About this deal

The Valkyrie also features custom wheel covers to replicate the real car, and is built long to replicate the real thing. We're going to see a matching 5-wide polybag version of the Valkyrie AMR Pro, following in the line of the Lamborghini Huracan and McLaren Elva of having smaller replicas. It'll be interesting to see how the step up to 5-wide from 4 improves the detail - things are certainly looking good. I had to do some some "internal" changes, but they don't affect the exterior, except the vertical support of the halo. I had to use another part for it, but I'm thinking right now how to improve. I already have some ideas... :D" Watch the race with the race fan minifigure at the racing corner barrier with a high wall and doorway. The dark colour scheme, not traditionally associated with Mercedes AMG, originates from the 2020 and 2021 Formula 1 seasons, representing a commitment towards diversity. This design takes inspiration from the 2021 car and closely resembles its source material, particularly since the grey section behind the airbox is unique. Accurate teal and dark red highlights are included as well. In full 80s finery the all-white Lamborghini Countach is probably one of the most requested Speed Champions models and we're finally seeing it - the custom rim plates really make this set.

Tyres have presented consistent issues when developing LEGO Formula 1 cars, particularly for smaller models. This car therefore includes the standard wheels introduced during 2020, albeit with printed wheel caps originating from 75891 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car. These widen the tyres somewhat and feature Pirelli branding, which looks superb.Speed Champions occasionally features minifigures inspired by real people, although the yellow skin tone traditionally associated with original characters remains. Nevertheless, this Formula 1 driver is certainly based upon Lewis Hamilton, featuring an appropriate hair piece and head for the British driver. The bearded element also portrayed Lewis in 75883 Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. This stylish fin is ingeniously assembled using a 2x6x4 vertical stabiliser, attached with Technic pins and partially hidden inside the body. Plates and tiles are then fitted sideways beside the fin, closing any gaps. The entire structure slots together seamlessly and colourful elements, such as the red 1x1 round tile with bar shown below, are concealed when the bodywork is finished. Aston Martin have a huge endurance racing program alongside their F1 team and finally seeing their brand on some Speed Champions sets brings us our GT3 and prototype hit. Some small notes on this one - the rear spoiler is actually an upside down dark green surfboard (first time LEGO have done this piece in this colour). Lamborghini Countach (76908)

The full LEGO Speed Champions 2022 line up featuring Mercedes-AMG, Lotus, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini. With everything from F1 and Historic Le Mans racers to the supercars of the 80s and modern electric hypercars, there's something for every fan.

It's the first time LEGO have released any sets with the Lotus brand, and they've certainly leant heavily on the brand's trademark green and yellow livery. The livery of this set isn't even one that's particularly associated with the Evija, with the box art featuring what appears to be a 3D render of the car in this colour scheme. Driver position. Don't agree that it couldn't be done better at this scale. I already did a first approach of a new design and it works. Additionally, the blue colour denotes full wet tyres, loosely reflecting their rough tread pattern. Completely new tyres would have been welcome though and could have proven useful in the future. The structure beneath the rear wing seems fairly bulky, but provides ample support for the apparently fragile wing, which is actually deceptively sturdy!

As with the other 2022 sets, we've got built headlights and taillights and lots of detail in front and rear splitters on the Project One. The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team set features a grandstand, pit garage, pit wall, TV rig and 2 Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid racing cars. Surely the practical answer (but not one Lego would do) is to take off the driver's legs and mount the torso on a 1x2 plate or 2. The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Minifigures

The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team set features a grandstand, pit garage, pit wall, TV rig and two Mercedes F1 W07 Hybrid racing cars. The all-electric hypercar Lotus Evija in 8 wide Speed Champions form. The historic dark green and yellow Lotus racing livery suits the car and its defining rear light intake vents have made it over to this set. It's great to see the Lotus brand in LEGO. Notably, the lead designer for Speed Champions compared this new 512 M to the Porsche 917K in the pit lane set 75876 from 2016 and the comparison is night and day, there's a lot more length to the model, and the vents on the arches are able to be reflected in built detail. Lotus Evija (76907) An alternative hat and hair component accompanies this driver. Teal suits the Mercedes team nicely and this element originated with the recent Bird-watcher Collectable Minifigure. Neither minifigure includes a double-sided head, but a pearl silver wrench is present for removing the wheel inserts. Includes eight minifigures: two MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team drivers, team manager, two engineers, hot dog vendor, cameraman and a race fan.

Get a bird’s eye view of the race at the hairpin corner with the TV camera rig featuring an adjustable camera arm and camera-style element. Includes 8 minifigures: 2 MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team drivers, team manager, 2 engineers, hot dog vendor, cameraman and a race fan. The trademark rear intakes inside the wraparound rear lights have been replicated in the model, but it's fair to level a criticism at this model that barring the Lotus badges, it would appear much like a generic supercar model. To be honest, this criticism would hold against the production Evija itself - so we'll reserve final judgement until we see the set itself. The box has a cool theme though, featuring Goodwood house, famed for hosting the Festival of Speed. We've seen Speed Champions sponsorship at Goodwood before, so it'll be interesting to see if there's more to come on this in 2022.Would the steering wheel fit on plate 21445? Because that would allow to slide the driver one stud forward, recline him/her and then attach the wheel above the legs with the special plate 21445 - did not try it but might be (an element) of solution. BTW You used the same part I was thinking to use for the Halo central support. It is the part that is more close in shape to the real thing" The Speed Champions 2021 Mercedes-AMG W12 is crazy to the last attempt at an AMG F1 car - the wheels are far more accurate scales, and modern F1 cars are much longer than they were in 2014. There's a working HALO (as we saw in the Formula E Jaguar) and decorated Pirelli branded tyres with blue wet weather stripes. Pirelli insisted on the treaded tyres having the blue band for realism - LEGO would have preferred white to match the design. Comparing this set with the 2017 Mercedes-AMG F1 cars is night and day in terms of realism and detail. I was wondering what you would think, Lluís, given your selection of minifigure-scale F1 cars! I agree regarding the tyres, but the minifigure is already sitting on the base of the chassis, so changing that would entail adapting the bodywork, rather than lowering the seat further.
