Knighting, where you look at cards in the knight position i.e. 2 cards along and then 1 either side from your querent or any other card you are interested in As a way of starting the reading, we can ground ourselves and focus on the central topic or theme of the spread. For the example reading, let's imagine that a querent is asking about their love life - they've met a new and exciting stranger and are curious to see where the relationship is going. So if, for example, we pull Heart + Tower + Snake + Scythe + Book, that means our central topic for this reading will be the card that is at literal heart of the spread. For us, that means it's the snake, which can denote the themes of ambition, seduction and deception. Not looking good! Stringing Lenormand Pairs In a Lenormand reading, knighting is used to discover unknown factors that are affecting the situation. For example, knighting can pinpoint things such as underlying motives, or secret desires. Discovering these during the reading can profoundly affect how you understand what is happening, and what you can do next. How to use Knighting in the Grand Tableau So, my first suggestion to help you master the Grand Tableau is to build up your sentence interpretation skills.

Several of the points that we used in the 9-Card spread will be in play again - in a modified version - here in the Grand Tableau. The cards that are to the significator’s left will represent the past, those to the right the future. The farther away the cards are from the significator are farther away in time, while those close are representative of the more immediate circumstances.Generally you can look at 8-12 weeks outcome or just wait if longer until the reading is fulfilled. But it all starts with simple two-card combinations. You can take the cards in turn and break down these long sentences into smaller ones, and then piece them into the whole line.

Sometimes we cannot say for sure if that is the new boy-friend, or a brother, sometimes its a hunch or one particular card tells you its him. I find that knighting reveals someone’s thoughts, so if someone ends up being knighted by the man or woman, it would mean that such a person is on that person’s mind. If you’re trying to define if they are the same person, then you look at Mirroring (what the person projects around them; how they appear to others). In your example, I would have simply knighted the man to find out what he’s thinking/behaving: Man knights Dog (Man is faithful, loyal and dedicated). Adding anything else just confuses the whole reading. Start with the main subject you’re interested in (the Man) and analyze him. But we don’t stop here. But it's a bit different in a Grand Tableau, where there are so many diagonals and so the diagonals are more about the details. If the querent identifies as female, what is at the center of their situation? Otherwise, how does their partner affect this state? Read the rows, read the columns, and read the diagonals. The rows and columns normally give you the main storylines, and the diagonals will offer you additional details or confirm the storylines. Heart x Clouds - There may be some uncertainty surrounding your feelings and your love life right now, meaning you may feel more insecure than usual. You may feel like you want to hide your feelings. Alternatively, your feelings of love may be clouding your judgement, and you may find it hard to see things clearly. The top row represents people, places, and things you’re aware and can currently influence, and the bottom represents things in your subconscious that have yet to come to light. Pair the center card with the second card to learn about your highest potential. Pair with the eighth card to learn about what’s motivating you that you might not fully understand.
