[1] [4] Their magic is written, more specifically, historically written lore and codices, as opposed to Silverquill's self-written and spoken magic. The next couple suggestions include recommendations for upgrading Lorehold Legacies with a tribal theme. The inspiration for this comes from the fact that the other legendary creature in this precon, Alibou, Ancient Witness, gives artifact creatures haste. This lends itself to a generic “artifact creatures matter” theme. However, a lot of artifact creatures care about other artifact creatures of the same type. Lorehold mages supplement their study of history by calling on the spirits of the ancient dead. While dustspeakers and pastraisers conjure spirits and interview them for knowledge of the past, battle mediums and other Lorehold mages sometimes draw on the magical power of those spirits or turn them into hardy soldiers by housing the spirits in statues depicting their living selves. I like this one, and it can really get there if flashed in at the right time, or even just have a chilling effect on the counters player at the table. The addition of ability counters in Ikoria makes the fact this gets any kind of counters even more interesting. Oh boy, having Parallel Lives as a Commander is uh, really good. There’s a reason it’s currently like a 50 dollar card, both because the effect is very powerful and because it’s very very popular. Leading the charge in Lorehold Legacies is Osgir, the Reconstructor. As you can see, Osgir cares about buffing up artifacts or extending the value of those artifacts in your graveyard. Phillip: Neat to see a card that rewards you for having an expensive commander, drawing 3 or 4 for 5 is reasonable at the cost of five life. Another one I really like. Instant speed card draw paying life….the number of times I have activated Greed in my life alone tells you this is worth it even with a 3 drop like Breena, much less with some of the much larger CMC commanders you can pair it with. Phillip: So this is a huge card, getting treasure off the second spell people cast each turn will be a lot of treasure. It would be totally broken if it was a treasure for each spell beyond the first, and as is it’s a huge boost, and helps white overcome some of it’s deficiencies in things like asymmetric ramp.The Mystical Archive is open to all, and you'll receive one copy—from its own dedicated slot—in each Draft Booster and each Set Booster, and at least three in each Collector Booster! A great value engine in the vein of Wurmcoil Engine, though the tokens it makes are less useful. The original body is arguably better though, flying, vigilance, and trample is a really tough combo to deal with in straight creature vs creature combat. On the other hand there are a lot of ways reanimating 2 creatures can win you the game, or you can find an opponent with no yard or a nonthreatening one, in which case the Demonstrate makes it quite good.
