About this deal

The Shattered Glass poster (as seen above) bears a strong resemblance to one of the first Transformers posters, right down to the characters' positions and actions: Megatron in Optimus Prime's place, and the evil second-in-commands ( Starscream and Rodimus) more in front of the battle than their respective evil leaders ( Megatron and Optimus Prime). They were successful, as the gestalt members' ministrations resulted in both them being reborn as Nexus Prime, and Megatron being resurrected as Galvatron. The two went out to face down Omega Doom, who had arrived outside of the Decepticon base.

Accessories: one ion blaster, one energon axe, Matrix of Leadership, five pairs of hands (relaxed, closed, rifle- axe- and Matrix-holding) While working on his Transhuman subjects, Side Burn cautioned them that they didn't want Ratchet working on their upgrades. The Autobot medic had a habit of getting...experimental with his patients. Coalescence Motor Mouth: Blurr does this but in a twist on the usual concept, he can actually talk at normal speed. His internal narration implies that he has to put effort into slowing his speech down and dislikes having to do it. Adaptational Personality Change: The comic borrows a number of ideas from the original Fun Publication stories but comes up with its own narrative and characterization. While most characters share the fundamentals with their Fun Pub counterparts, their personalities are tweaked: The crucible of war has burned away most of the traits that Optimus once relied upon: where once he coldly plotted and schemed, now he surrounds himself with the corpses of his enemies and would-be usurpers and talks to them as though they still live. Ruthless and utterly unhinged, Prime will gleefully send dozens of Autobots to their deaths if it means gaining the tiniest of advantages, and his deadly outbursts inspire terror in allies and enemies alike. His casual disregard for the lives of his followers means that his powerbase is shaky at best—shaky to the point where multiple Autobots have conspired to remove their leader from the picture. But few of those would-be traitors underestimate just how stubborn their leader is: if there's something he wants, Optimus Prime will level mountains, extinguish suns, or wade through a sea of Autobot corpses to get his hands on it... and there's nothing he wants more than to keep his power.

Enemy Civil War: Following the defeat of the Decepticons, Goldbug and Prowl broke away from Optimus and managed to claim territory of their own. Unfortunately, Optimus Prime. He will stop at nothing to regain the key to Vector Sigma and make himself the one true Prime, so he can lead Cybertron into a new Golden Age. Adaptational Badass: In Fun Pubs Shattered Glass, Prowl was basically a non-entity, while Goldbug spent much of the latter parts of the series acting as The Starscream to Rodimus Prime, with about as much success. In this world, both of them have successfully taken territory for themselves and are described as warlords in their own right. Optimus Prime's insanity, delusional believe that he's The Chosen One and tendency to brutalize his own troops makes him an unstable and mercurial leader at best. At some point Ultra Magnus staged a coup. It ended unsuccessfully, with Optimus ripping off Magnus's face and imprisoning him on Paradron. Invasion

He is bundled with Shattered Glass Ratchet, and was revealed on the September 8 TransformersTuesday. Much like most 2020 Selects product, the toy is only branded as part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy and not Earthrise. Boisterous Weakling: Bumblebee is an arrogant, pompous braggart who believes himself to be one of the best warriors among the Autobot ranks. In truth, however, he's just a wimpy scout who doesn't pose much of a threat to the Decepticons. Rodimus returned to Cybertron's surface just as it began to reconfigure itself into Primus's robot form. This change caught Nova Prime unaware; confronting his former commander, Rodimus retook his title as "Rodimus Prime" and freed his captured troops, evacuating the planet. But when Primus called upon Rodimus for help during his fight against his "sister" and fellow planet-bot Gaea, Rodimus refused outright, leaving Primus to be blown to bits by his opponent. The Future Buried...

In Fun Publications' Shattered Glass stories, Ultra Magnus used to look like "Battle in a Box" Ultra Magnus. When the "Invasion" comic's creative team was asked if they were actually the same guy versus being a repurposing, the simultaneous answer was "Sure", "Yes", and "No". Somebody's a spoilsport. The Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime would later clarify the "Battle in a Box" Ultra Magnus toy as primarily a version of Unicron Trilogy Ultra Magnus.

Because of the glorious nature of 5mm posts, Galvatron is capable of attaching the tank included with his previous toy to his arm for additional firepower. Shattered Glass Prime is a web comic depicting a Mirror Universe of Transformers: Prime mixed with elements of other Transformers continuities such as Transformers: Animated and The Transformers (IDW) by DeviantArt artist, SoundBluster . Volume 1 begins here. Transformers: Shattered Glass is a comic book from IDW Publishing released in summer of 2021. The series is written by Transformers newcomer Danny Lore, with art by Dan Khanna and Guido Guidi, and colors by John-Paul Bove. The series is a reboot of the fan-favourite Transformers: Shattered Glass universe that began with Fun Publications in 2008.

When Megatron and his remaining followers launched a full-scale assault on Gold City, Ratchet took part in the battle, but paused when he overheard the sound of Starscream dying and Jetfire screaming in agony. Shattered Glass #5 Ultra Magnus isn't much better, showing little regard to the drones under his command and demoting and punishing his crew if they fail him even once. Big Bad: Of course Optimus Prime, but also Goldbug and Prowl who managed to become warlords of their own. The Fighting Narcissist: Starscream outright calls himself vain and takes great pride in his looks but he's shown to be a very competent and intelligent warrior. The character Akane Shinjo from SSSS.GRIDMAN homages Shattered Glass Optimus Prime in several ways:

It's implied that Flamewar is slowly coming to sincerely regret everything she's done when she was still with the Autobots. You... probably don't want to fight Marvel Ratchet, SG Ratchet, that rarely ends up well for anyone. Including Marvel Ratchet.Still plagued by self-confidence issues however, Ultra Magnus did not believe he could lead the Autobots as himself, instead conspiring to steal Optimus's body. Shattered Glass II #5 After being repaired, Optimus was brought to Metroplex, Shattered Glass II #4 where his spark was extracted and placed in Magnus's body. Having his leg cut off and his voice box disabled, Optimus was left to impotently scream, a state in which he was found by Soundwave and Slicer. Shattered Glass II #5 Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Orion Pax offers to fully fund Jetfire and Starscream's research in return for control of what they learn. Starscream refuses. Jetfire...not so much. Adaptational Wimp: In the first issue, Blurr is shown delivering Sixshot's dismembered corpse to Ratchet. Befitting a character normally portrayed as a One-Man Army, Shattered Glass Sixshot is easily killed. He's even coloured like a Red Shirt!
